Two ferocious hurricanes have slammed into Central America Hurricane Iota hit the coast just 15 miles south of where Hurricane Eta struck on 3 November. It brings sustained winds of 160mph, torrential rain and the threat of flash floods to communities who are already reeling from Eta. We're working to help families in Honduras who have lost their homes. We have stocks of shelter kits and essential household items ready to be shipped. We urgently need to restock so that we ...are ready for future disasters, but we can’t do this without your support. Thank you for helping ensure no family is left without shelter after disaster!

We're responding to Typhoon Goni which made landfall in the Philippines at the end of October, and Hurricane Eta which devastated Honduras just days later. But sadly both countries are experiencing more catastrophic storms, increasing the damage and devastation in people's lives. Typhoon Vamco hit the Philippines last Wednesday, and Hurricane Iota is due to hit Nicaragua and Honduras later today as a Category 4 or 5 hurricane. Many people won't know that the storm is coming because of the damage caused to communications just 2 weeks ago by Hurricane Eta. The impact is heartbreaking. We will do everything we can to help families rebuild their homes and their lives.

Clean water can mean the difference between life or death. After a disaster strikes, contaminated and dirty drinking water can carry diseases like cholera and typhoid. This is why we provide water filters for families, to protect from disease and give families comfort knowing their water will be safe to drink.
