Someone sent me a link to an old Shepherd Boat stored in a barn. Starts at approx 7:00 https://youtu.be/qH6XMaSnw-g
The Canada Customs house used to be at the mouth of the slip by the light house. In 1955 the ice jam lifted the building and dock off its footings as seen behin...d Chris Allen. The color picture shows the entrance to the slip with the customs building removed. The last picture shows one of the two Ferrys that used to stop at the customs. See more
One of the few 54' Shepherd / Trojan partially constructed in Niagara-on-the-Lake in 1977. Presently in Texas, USA

this is a photo someone just sent me. It looks like it was taken at the mouth of the Niagara River in front of the Shepherd factory. Does anyone know the year of the boat?
this is a photo taken from the 1949 (I think) Sportsman Show ( I assume in Toronto) I showed the photo to my mother and she has no idea who the guy standing in front of the boat is.
these are pages from the 1953 Brochure. I have never seen a boat that looks like these images so I am not sure if any were built. Has anyone seen a Shepherd that looks similar?
thanks to Jim for sending me these images of a boat that is shown in a book called Boathouses by John De Visser (I think). The book lists the boats as a 12' Sheppard roadster built in 1943. I mentions it is wned by the Brigham's. I have never seen any literature or historical photos showing this boat. It is a beauty. If anyone else has any photo's please post them for other's to see
this is an ad in Mayfair magazine from 1949

Shepherd Boats Limited was organized in 1931 in St. Catharines, Ontario by Lloyd H. Shepherd and his son, Howard Shepherd. They originally began by building outboard boats. Fire destroyed their premises in 1940 and a new building was started the same year at the mouth of the Niagara River. The Southwind, a 65 foot sailboat was the first boat to be built on the new premises After building Airforce patrol boats during the war they began the manufacture of a line of deluxe runabouts and cruisers, and by 1956 they were shipping them to the United States market. Shepherd Boats have been singularly successful in the United States with much of the companys production being sold there Take from the 1956 promotional brochure
