2020- Many ups and downs, lessons learned, relationships lost but better ones created, deals died, forever homes found, tears but ALOT of smiles. Last year is going to go down as one of the BEST years of my life for so many reasons. But making the TOP 10 in my office 2nd year in a row is a huge accomplishment for me, it feels like my reward for all the hard work, long hours and many many tears of last year were all worth it. They say a referral is the best compliment you can give someone and I can honestly say there is nothing better than to work for someone who was referred by someone who believes in you. I met Ashley Bouyea back in 1993 when she was a Baker and we became fast friends. So many memories jumping on the trampoline, many sleep-overs, singing competitions (her not me), playing pogs/marbles and of course getting into too much trouble. And here we are 28 years later working closely with each other to serve our clients. Ashley took a huge leap in 2020 and got her Mortgage Broker License. Here is the review of 2020 for the Edmonton Real Estate Market brought to you by Sherri Herman with Maxwell Challenge Realty. -Average Single family home $429,433 in comparison to $425,129 in 2019 -Average price of Condos are down yet again $222,573 (2020) compared to $227,393 (2019)... -Average Price for Duplex/Row Houses is down slightly $332,625 (2020), $333,482 (2019) SINGLE FAMILY HOME SALE: Sales were UP! 2020-10,804 2019-10,307 CONDO SALES: Sales were down 2020-3,814 2019-4,124 DUPLEX/ROWHOUSE- Sales were up 2020-2,049 2019-1,725 TOTAL SALES WERE UP IN 2020 17,036 compared to 16,549 in 2019 All in all 2020 was a good year in the Edmonton Real Estate. Sales were up for Single Family Homes and Condos were down, which makes sense because with interest rates being so low a lot of people were making the move up to single family homes.
