One of my go-to recommendations for any couple who aren’t fans of being the center of attention or struggle a little with anxiety in front of crowds, is the First Look. If you’re not sure how it works, here are the PROS and CONS around it. You and your partner get a private meeting together before the Wedding ceremony.... You are more relaxed than if you’re in front of a crowd walking down the aisle. You can often schedule some or all of the Bride and Groom portraits after the First Look so there’s less time for your guests to wait later. You both have more time after the Ceremony to enjoy cocktails with your friends and family. So many of my couples say this was one of the best decisions they made for all of the about reasons. Now here’s some of the CONS... If you a traditional type of person, you may want to only see each other when you walk down the aisle. Grooms are sometimes against this idea. You’ll have to get ready much earlier so this can all happen before the Ceremony. There may be some waiting around time in between your First Look and the Ceremony. For me as a photographer, I LOVE to capture these private moments! I find my couples are way more relaxed walking down the aisle and really appreciate having more time to spend with their guests later on. I really love to incorporate motion into my shoots.
