Not all superheroes wear capes When Danica’s school held a Superhero dress up day, there was only one person she wanted to dress up as, her mom, Vicky! Vicky is our Food Store Manager in Southey. Danica said her mom is a superhero because she makes sure everyone has access to their essentials. We couldn’t agree more! Thank you to Vicky and all of our superheroes who make sure we have what we need during these tough times.

TeleMiracle 45 is a few short weeks away so it’s time for us to lend them a hand. Helping hands are now available at all Sherwood Co-op locations for a $1 donation. All money donated goes directly towards helping people in Saskatchewan who need access to life saving medical treatment, special needs equipment to improve quality of life, or towards funding equipment to improve our health care.

We’re proud to end the year with some beary great news! Because of our amazingly gracious member’s donations, 2,536 sick kids in the hospital throughout Saskatchewan will be given teddy bears from TEDDY BEARS ANONYMOUS!! That is from the $10,144 raised from our Christmas tree ornament donations that were $4 each. Thank you to everyone who donated to help provide a teddy bear and a smile to kids in our province going through tough medical times.

Our TEDDY BEARS ANONYMOUS trees look like they went through a blizzard, all covered in white! Every white ornament represents a teddy bear that was donated by a member for $4 to be given to a sick child in the hospital throughout Saskatchewan! Which tree do you think has more ornaments? The Salvation Army Haven of Hope is an integral charity who continuously helps those in need in our community. Due to COVID-19, their annual kettle fund had to shift as their traditional campaign wasn’t going to be safe in 2020. Sherwood Co-op is proud to support our local Salvation Army with $1000! We also delivered $1000 worth of Santa’s Anonymous toys for girls and boys this holiday season.

It is with heavy hearts that we have to say good bye to our dear friend and colleague, Judy Sich. If you have visited our Rochdale Food Store, you know Judy by her welcoming smile, sense of humour and caring heart. She had a way of making every member she encountered feel special with the genuine connections that she built with them over the years. We were honoured to have Judy’s smile greeting family and friends at Sherwood Co-op for over 35 years and in that time she touch...ed countless lives with her happiness. I just wanted to pass along this amazing customer service from a young male employee at your 460 Albert St. location. I was fueling up when a young boy came through the parking lot pushing his bike. Your employee went inside and requested assistance on the pumps from another employee so that he could help this young boy fill his bike tire with air. It’s refreshing to watch someone go above and beyond to help others. His kindness and warm heart should be recognized as he sets an amazing example for others. I am sure that this meant a lot to this young boy and that he will be a future Sherwood Co-op gas bar customer.
