As you may have heard by now, Premier Pallister announced that dental offices may reopen their doors on Monday, May 4th. We received guidelines from the Manitoba Dental Association the evening of Thursday, April 30th that dental offices can treat emergency and urgent cases only, until further notice. If you are dealing with a True dental emergency or urgent situation, please call us at (204) 477-4463 or email us at [email protected]... For all other dental procedures, please be assured that we will contact you to reschedule your appointments, as soon as the Manitoba Dental Association has indicated it is safe for all involved. However, we also need to follow the guidelines of the Manitoba Dental Association, who have not yet shared their guidelines for re-entry. They plan to meet by the end of this week, and as soon as we hear from them we will adopt their provided guidelines, to ensure a safe dental environment for our guests and staff. However, I made an appointment after finding them on google and they have changed my dental experience significantly. To our valued patients: The COVID-19 outbreak continues to evolve rapidly worldwide with more countries reporting cases and an overall increase in case numbers. The virus can be spread through close contact (within 2 meters/6 feet) with an infected person who is coughing or sneezing. You can also get COVID-19 by touching objects contaminated with the virus and then touching your mouth, eyes or nose.... To reduce risk of infection, please see below the following precautions you can take: People are encouraged to take common preventative measures, including regular hand washing with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. Make sure to dry your hands thoroughly. Or, you can use an alcohol-based hand cleanser if your hands are not visibly dirty. You should also cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing, or you can cough or sneeze into the crook of your elbow. Throw used tissues in the garbage and immediately wash your hands, or use an alcohol-based hand cleanser. Avoid close contact (within 2 meters/6 feet) with anyone showing symptoms of a respiratory illness, such as coughing or sneezing. Please remain at home if you are sick. Shine Dental will continue to monitor the situation and will update our guests, should any further precautionary measures need to be taken. We have rigorous safety and sterilization procedures already in place. We thoroughly disinfect each operatory before and after each patient, wear mask and gloves with each patient, practice proper hand washing techniques and regularly disinfect commonly used surfaces such as counters, door handles and light switches.
