On this day, hereby known as Black Friday, let it be known how much I hated (and I do mean hate) this day. This ONE day that lasts a month with ad inundating us with pre and post Black Friday sales. The lowest price of the year guaranteed; until the next sale. As a small shop owner I hated Black Friday and refused to use it for a sales slogan. While all my fellow shopkeepers jumped on board the Black I did a Winter White Sale instead. First, it isn't our holiday. Secon...d, again, as a small shop owner, people are flocking to the big box type stores for big box deals, not the small downtown/local business. Let them have it I'd say, we can do something different on another day. Now they have Small Business Saturday, which is great but it happens AFTER the big Black Friday event. After everyone has given their money to who? Save your money, support small/local (not chain) businesses and restaurants instead. See more
