Friends of the Wench. I have a very important (and large) issue that I need your help with. A former employee of Monkey Jungle, who is a good friend of mine has recently been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm, very much like the one I had years ago. Lionel is a family man, only 49, with three children under 10, and takes care of his Mom, who is blind. Covid has impacted so much here, including bed availability, and access to care. He needs to have brain surgery, asap. The pub...lic hospital can't accommodate him, and the surgery is very expensive...I need to find a DEPOSIT of $450,000 DOP (approximately $10,000 CDN) before they will admit him for surgery. This is a good man, with a beautiful young family, who desperately wants to see his children grow up, and grow old with his beautiful wife. I realize it is very close to the holidays, but I need help to help Lionel and his family. He has been a valuable resource for the work I do, and this IS life or death. He has no insurance, and being Haitian, doesn't have access to what many take for granted. Ahoy, Friends of Shipwreck Lee's!! Just a note to tell you we are sailing away on Sunday for the season!! Three more days to get the best Grog and Grub in the Tub!!! Business will re-open next Spring, when hopefully, the world is a little more normal!! Time to hoist the anchor and set sail for sunnier harbours!!
