Despite great signage telling guests that you wish to have an unpluggedceremony, in my experience many still have their cameras and phones in hand when the ceremony is ready to begin. A nicely worded request usually helps to get everyone on board! My thanks to @twenty5films for sharing this footage from Matt and Alanna’s wedding!

This Thanksgiving Day, there are many things I am grateful for...a comfortable home, food on the table, a job that I love, family, great friends and good health! Being Canadian is high on the list this year as is technology...very thankful to have Zoom and FaceTime and Messenger chats when in person things cannot happen! And very thankful for all of our front line workers! But, what I am most grateful for is my family. Each of them lovely inside and out! Each of them bright, loving and caring. No greater joy than having these beautiful people in my life! Hope you take time today to reflect on the things that give you reason to be grateful. It’s been a difficult year, but there is always a positive. Find it. Give thanks. Happy Thanksgiving!

The wind drove us indoors today but Kehoe and Kin did a fabulous job of ensuring everyone’s safety with vendor and guest screening and a very thoughtful seating plan! The barn was beautifully decked out by Kayware Decor. Windecker Woods Farm created beautiful florals. A famil6 member created personalized snack bags filled with sweets from Bennett’s Apple Farm and they very thoughtfully had a treat bag for me too! Ian and Heidi shared the sweetest vows and a few giggles. This Thanksgiving weekend I am grateful that I get to meet and marry such lovely people! Thank you Ian and Heidi for the privilege of being a small part of your day! Congratulations and all the best for a long and happy life together!

As the weather gets cooler, we will likely see more and more indoor weddings and it is critical that everyone complies with public health recommendations. Wear a facemask, ensure that seating for your guests and placement of the bride, groom and wedding party allows for social distancing. Insist that your vendors wear facemasks and keep their distance as well. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of officiating an elopement ceremony for Lynne and Don @hideawayhills.ca! Lovely couple surrounded by Mother Nature committing to a lifetime of love! So much joy! Officiating a wedding is a joyful experience! It introduces you to many couples that you like and enjoy working with but it is absolutely magical when you get to officiate at the wedding of people you love, and I love this couple. The bride is family that I’ve known since the day she was born and the groom is now family too. Wishing a very happy first anniversary to Paul and Hannah @hannahbean5! So very grateful that we were all able to be together last year for this fabulous day! Love and hugs

Even the rain today could not dampen the spirits of Susan and Eric as they said We Do! Cranberry Creek Gardens was glorious in her fall colours and the chapel was the perfect spot for an intimate ceremony! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. L!

Beautiful morning ceremony at Cranberry Creek Gardens today! Congratulations to Robyn and Bryan! The rain stayed away! Hooray! A tree planting, personal vows and a few giggles made for the perfect ceremony for this sweet couple! Wedding Hair and Makeup by Amy and Anita did a wonderful job of making the pretty girls even prettier and Devlins Country Bistro was cooking up a yummy brunch.
