Back in June 2015, to promote tourism in Japan's ancient capital of Kyoto, 40 geisha and maiko performed a dance recital in Tokyo . According to Kyoto city, 40 geisha and maiko--geisha apprentices--traveled in a chartered shinkansen bullet train car from Kyoto to participate in the event.
