We were asked to do a short write-up for a restaurant page, so we thought we’d share it here too! Shoeless Joe’s Sports Grill, while a franchise, is about as local as it gets. We are a family run restaurant, who spend nearly everyday of our lives between these walls. That includes myself, my wife Desiree, and my parents John & Linda. I will say that with how hard we all work, and what it takes to make this place successful, I am always disheartened to hear when someone clamou...rs don’t go to franchises, they don’t need help - support the local guy!. We’re in this pandemic just like the rest of the world. We live in Saskatoon, we shop in Saskatoon, and my newborn son will grow up in Saskatoon. I think it’s safe to say that classifies as local. We opened Shoeless Joe’s in May of 2016, and like every new restaurant opening, it was obviously a bit of a disaster. You try to plan for every emergency, and always encounter issues you couldn’t possibly dream of. While Shoeless Joe’s is a 100% Canadian company, we’re the only location outside of Ontario, so we often find ourselves on our own little island. Nonetheless, through that, and now through COVID-19, we’re still going strong, and it’s due to the incredible support of this city. We’re very passionate owner/operators, and we’ve put everything we have into this restaurant. I take it personally on the rare occasion a guest has a less than perfect experience, and will always deal with any complaint myself. We’ve worked, and continue to work, countless hours to get to where we are, and we wouldn’t be in the position we’re in without our amazing team. This place runs like clockwork due to an exceptional team of caring people (the best team I’ve ever worked with!). The world needs a lot positivity right now, and our team is gleaming with it. We cannot thank the city of Saskatoon for it’s continued support and rave reviews - it’s all needed now more than ever! We love you all, stay safe, and we’ll see you at Shoeless Joe’s!
