On February 25th, as part of Black History Month, Negus Medhin, Master African/Caribbean Drummer led a workshop for our students. It was a stimulating, highly enjoyable, and educational experience. Enjoy the video:-)

On numerous occasions this year, Avi told us many times his doctors said he would not be able to talk, walk or learn. Well, look at him go now! He is a High School Graduate, and he has been accepted into two colleges. June 21, 2019

Perseverance is the key to your child's intellectual development New research shows what I have known for 55 years, which is: When children are praised for the process they are engaged in, that is, hard work, focus, strategizing, and persevering, they become better learners. Why? (1) They continue to be motivated learners. (2) They are more likely to take on challenges.... (3) They learn to thrive in the face of difficulty. Marks matter but passion, dedication, and persistance, count the most when children are developing their intelligence and talents. Raffi, one of our high school graduates this year (see photo), exemplifies the idea that you never know how good you can be at something until you approach it with grit, passion, and perseverance.
