WE HAVE VERY EXCITING NEWS FOR OUR PATIENTS AND THE RESIDENTS OF THE QUAD COUNTIES! Dr Boudreau and her staff are pleased to welcome Dr Sarah MacEachern to their team! Dr MacEachern is a native of the Strait Area and grew up in the community of Frankville. She graduated from SAERC in 2012, and went on to complete a Bachelor of Science degree from St FX in 2016. She then moved to Halifax and graduated from Dalhousie University in May of 2020 with her Doctor of Dental Surg...ery degree. Upon graduation, Dr MacEachern was awarded the Dr Frank Woodbury Memorial prize for the highest academic standing in her graduating class. In her spare time, Dr MacEachern leads an active lifestyle with her boyfriend, Andrew, and their dog, Willow. She enjoys biking, travelling, and spending time with friends and family. Dr MacEachern has always felt a connection to the Strait Area, with many of her family members residing in Port Hawkesbury and along Route 19. She is excited to be back home and is looking forward to providing comprehensive care for her patients. We are pleased to announce that our office will be re-opening on Monday, June 15th at 9am! At this time, treatment will be limited to emergency and urgent care. We hope to resume with regular services on Monday, June 22nd. Please be advised that entry into our facility will be by appointment only, and you will be asked a series of pre-screening questions upon contacting our office. We ask that patients come to their appointment alone, with the exception of children and th...ose who require assistance. Accompanying individuals will be limited to one person who will also be screened. Anyone entering our facility must wear a mask and must use the hand sanitizer provided at the entrance. We wish to inform everyone that Shoreline Dental remains closed at this time. Our team continues to prepare to open, and we are waiting to receive the last of our personal protective equipment. This week, the province of Nova Scotia announced that dental offices can reopen on June 5th to provide emergency and/or urgent dental care. We are working diligently to make the necessary physical changes within our clinic, and also to obtain the correct personal protective equipment that will ensure the maximum level of safety for our staff and our patients. Please understand that even though we are allowed to open on June 5th, at this time we do not have an official reo...pening date. As we navigate through our newly issued guidelines, we once again thank everyone for their patience and understanding. We will provide additional updates within the upcoming week. These include clinics located at Dalhousie University, the QEII Health Science Centre, and the IWK. The province hopes to have other locations operational within the upcoming days. Its important to bring your child for their first dental visit within 6 months of the first tooth coming in (erupting), or by about 12 months at the latest. The goal is to have your child visit the dentist before there is a problem with his or her teeth. In most cases, a dental exam every six months will let your child's dentist catch small problems early!
