Kyoshi Dave runs the one of the largest and best Karate Academies I have ever seen and produces some of the East Coast’s finest Black Belts. Kyoshi Dave’s karate techniques have the power most of us long for. With the largest shoulders Ive seen on a man, and a human head for calf muscles, it’s easy to see how his technique can be so destructive. However, just like Ali- he floats like a butterfly and sting like a bee- he truly is the most genuine and gentlemanly karate practitioner I have had the pleasure to learn from. Sensei Erik is a 7th Dan (7th Degree) Black Belt in Aikijujutsu. What Is Aikijujutsu? Essentially, the art form of the Japanese Samurai which encompasses strikes, takedowns, and small and large joint manipulations of all kinds. Aikijujutsu is a VERY connected and complementary art form to add to Karate. Sensei Erik is one of 3 or 4 gentlemen that have aided to my martial arts knowledge base and helped me develop a larger understanding of the practical aspects of my kata technique and understanding of bunkai (applications).
