Well Facebookers I guess we are taking a step back again. It was a lot of info to take in and I am certainly not going to chase after loopholes after this last go round with AHS and AGLC. In reflection on this shut down I am hoping we can salvage some good from this. These shut downs are terrible for us all and I hope you all get trough this safe, healthy and relatively unscathed. I also hope in 4 weeks we can get back to a much less restricted way of enjoying our pool hall.... This is only a suggestion but maybe instead of stewing over the pool hall shut down, how about we take some of the money we are saving on pool and buy a toy donation for a kids cause, a food bank or even spoil someone a bit more this year. Just figured we could throw a silver lining on this for someone. I want to thank you all again for your support over the years and I look forward to seeing you all when the smoke clears in January. I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, stay safe, stay healthy and we will see you soon. -Jes

Good afternoon Facebookers! I am trying to get a strait answer from AHS and AGLC on reopening pool tables. It seems the hall in Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton have started to open with pool table play. While I am sure AHS has probably given them the ok, no one can provide anything definitive in writing that it is ok (just loose interpretation). I did get a strait answer from AGLC in Lethbridge, that the health order states no pool tables and that is how they will enforce it. End of discussion there. Soooo I now have multiple calls and requests online to AHS to spell it out and make sure AGLC is aware of any exemptions. We will be opening soon though if for anything you can stop in and have some eats and some brews! I will keep you posted as I get more. Thank you Jes

On behalf of myself and the staff at Shotz we extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jr Sweetgrass. I enjoyed knowing Mike and he will be greatly missed by many. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Sherri and his son Mike. He was very proud to have you both in his life.

Sorry to say folks but we are having a snow day today and will not be open. Roads are terrible and dangerous so stay safe and have a cozy day inside. Have a great day!

Good Morning Facebookers! Just wanted to drop you all a quick note to clarify a couple of points on the public health order. I spoke directly with AHS to get it right from the horses mouth (if you are too young to get that expression....Google it). The health order is written that pool tables, VLT's (in businesses of 15 machines or less), games, darts etc are not permitted in any circumstance in an enhanced status area. It further restricts cohort groups and maintains that fo...od and beverage consumption is seated service only. We will be closed until AHS removes these restrictions. As frustrating as it is, trying to negotiate the mine field of do's and don'ts is a stress I do not want to impose on my customers and staff. I don't want to do business like that. I want to thank all of you who have supported us over the last 19 years and the outpouring of support over the last few days has shown me how important our pool family is to you all. I will be open again, this will pass, I only ask you to do your best, in whatever capacity, to help get through this. So kick back, relax as much as you can and most of all, be safe. Thank you all for your patronage and support and see you in a few weeks! -Jes See more

Good afternoon Facebookers! We are open today. Added a letter outlining our relaunch, it's not every detail but it covers the main points. Please remember if you are sick or cared for someone exposed, have been exposed yourself, traveled to an area of risk or are under a quarantine order - DO NOT ENTER THE ESTABLISHMENT. Even a small outbreak could trigger quarantine protocols and result in closing again. As this relaunch is ever evolving we ask for your patience and understa...nding as we try to find the right process for everything. Please feel free to share this post with everyone so we can spread the word not the virus. Thank you for your patronage and hope to see you soon. Jes See more

Good morning Facebookers! We will be open today and tomorrow until 11pm (last call 10pm). On the 27th pool tables will be off limits to play as well as darts and any card games. With the current restrictions in place it is difficult to see how we will be able to operate beyond the 27th. We understand the restrictions are difficult to take and we hope you will be able to support us in the future. I will be posting further information as it becomes available. Remember to stay safe, let's do what we can to help get this under control so we can get back to the tables sooner rather than later. -Jes

Good morning Facebookers! Wanted to give a quick update. Supplies are rolling in and some last minute system repairs are being completed over the next few days. Fingers crossed everything should be wrapped up and ready to open July 2nd. I cannot express how appreciative I am of your patience through this time, I know there are many eager to get back to the tables. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.... Jes

Good morning facebookers! We have had some promising news yesterday that not only have they moved pool halls into phase 2 but they've moved phase two up to this Friday. Unfortunately access to personal protective equipment, back orders on sanitization equipment and products, and time delays to purchase and install physical distancing barriers we will not be opening up right away. I understand some of you are excited to get back at it however I have to make sure that we put up the necessary protections and procedures to ensure your safety. When we do open we will the exercising the prescribed safe distancing measures, sanitation protocols, and reduced capacity in accordance with government of Alberta direction. I look forward to seeing you all again and thank you not only for your patronage but your patience at this time. Jes

Good evening facebookers. I'm sure some of you are wondering whether or not we are going to be opening soon and unfortunately due to all the contact points involved in the pool tables and the video Lottery terminals we do not fit in the first phase of the relaunch. I am still waiting for further clarification as to where we do belong and until such time as we can open and ensure sanitization standards and safe distancing can be maintained we will be holding off for now. I appreciate hearing from some of you to see how things are going and rest assured I want to make sure that when we do open the safety of our customers and staff are first and foremost. Thank you all for your patronage over the years and I look forward to a nice safe reopening in the near future. Jes
