Educating the puppy buyer is such a critical role of a responsible breeder. But it is often a role that we overlook and forget about, myself included. In the busyness of taking care of my dogs, planning for future dogs and litters, and educating myself, I am guilty of placing the puppy buyer in a I’ll get to it when I get to it position on my to-do list. Certain animals groups are pushing as hard as ever with adopt don’t shop propaganda. We all need to be doing a better j...ob at educating what shopping actually means. No, we do not want puppy buyers going to pet stores, puppy mills, backyard breeders, import puppies or scam sites. We advocate for responsible shopping to search for a breeder who is doing the right things. Appreciation post for our little guy Cassey. Everyone loves seeing pictures of puppies but the old fellas do not get the attention then deserve. Cassey has been in this world for 14 good years and has lived in quite a few different places. Originally from Texas and moved to Lethbridge, Alberta as a pup, he travelled around Alberta wherever his parents lived at the time. Cassey is an old bubba now, his fur is thin which makes grooming hard. He only has one tooth left (which we... affectionately call his snaggle). And he spends most of his days being grumpy or sleeping at moms feet. But we love him all the same. The man of the house successfully filled his tag this weekend with a perfect shot at 200yards! Jordan rattled & called this big boy into a very heavy mulie area, we were both surprised to see a whitetail come by.
