Today the Boston Pizza's in Sherwood Park gifted us with 2 cheques for $2500 each! That's 20 kids off the floor! Christmas sure has come early for us at SHP this year! The support of our community has been truly overwhelming.

Here we go again. Although we are impatient to deliver beds to the families on our wait list, the health of our community is a priority. Let's all do our part so in 3 weeks we can deliver beds and provide the best gift of all to kids in our community - a bed of their own.

SHP builds and provides beds to kids who don't have a bed of their own. It's estimated that 2% of children sleep on the floor, on a sofa, or with a parent or multiple siblings. A good night's sleep is important so we aim to make sure NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN!

3 more kids off the floor! But where are the pictures of the cute kids? At SHP, children come first. Many of our families are in very vulnerable and difficult situations and their safety and well-being is our first priority. Although some families are happy and able to share their children's joy with us, we meet kids who are camera shy and that's OK. We meet families fleeing abuse and violence and we will not compromise their safety. Some parents do not want their children on... social media. Just know that each and every bed we deliver brings joy and comfort to the children. Those boards you sanded this summer? They'll be in a child's bedroom soon. The handmade quilts and afghans that have been created and donated? We haven't seen a kid yet who didn't wrap themselves in that blanket and parade around their room like they're royalty! I don't have a picture for you today. But I can report there are 3 delighted kids and a mom in our community who all got a great night's sleep for the first time in a long time last night.
