Shree Gurubhyo Namaha!!!! The wait is finally over!! Presenting to you Madhava Panchakam (adavu series) from the kids of Shree Siddhi Naatyalaya !!... Oothukkaadu Venkata Kavi (c. 1700-1765) or Oottukkaadu Venkata Subbaiar was one of the pioneering composers in Indian classical Carnatic music. He lived in South India in the present-day state of Tamil Nadu. Also known by the name Oothukkaadu Venkatasubramaniya Iyer, he composed hundreds of compositions in Sanskrit, Tamil and Marathi. While he has rightfully been acknowledged as one of the greatest composers on Krishna Venkata Kavi composed hundreds of pieces on other deities as well. Madhava Panchakam is a Shloka (devotional poetry) is sung in praise of Lord Krishna explaining his immense beauty. The Madhava Panchakam is one among the many shlokas that are eminently suited for daily household worship as well as for concert rendition. This song is set to the Ragam Chala Natta and Thalam Adi. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents for putting up with all the weird requests I have had from time to time, trusting me with their kid's Bharatanatyam journey, and giving the beautiful opportunity of learning dance for their kids. The 4 kids learned this composition completely online with no physical contact with each other. Though I am against the online learning of Bharatanatyam for beginners we had to conduct a few sessions online to keep the flow going for the kids. Atishya, Divyashri, Oorjasvita, and Riya have done a commendable job and I am very blessed to have such passionate and hardworking kids around me. They continuously motivate me to bring more opportunities their way. Special thanks to my guru Smt. Suryakala Jeevananthan who motivates and inspires me every minute to do better and Balasubramani anna for helping me put together this video.
