ATTENTION SHUBIE PARK PET OWNERS! Please be careful when entering the Shubie Park Dog Beach Off- Leash Area with your pets! The neighbours across the water have begun firing firecrackers at the dogs in hopes of intimidating pet owners from returning.... Please be advised! Canines have famously delicate ears, which is why the noise of firecrackers can be extremely uncomfortable. The booming sounds can cause a poor pooch to feel pain. The combination of the chaos and commotion of firecrackers with ears full of "ouch" isn't a recipe for a happy dog. Not only can firecrackers cause dogs to feel pain, they can also result in hearing damage. More info - https://www.facebook.com//a.35021809838/1063588257049345/

Are you aware of a petition to decommission the beach portion of off leash dog park at Shubie Doggie Park: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia... call the city and be heard. Send email support to our buddy and supporter Darren Fisher at [email protected]..... the more the better.
And if you see someone breaking the rules it doesn't hurt to gently remind them. E.g. Offer them a waste bag. And in some instances contact Animal Services. http://www.halifax.ca/animalservices/

HAPPY ENDING: Home, Safe n’ Sound!! Yippee!! From the Owner: WE FOUND HIM THANK YOU ALL OF YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP!!! I can never ever show ...you how much you have all meant to me!! Thank you!! Just wonderful news yeah!! (2.7.14 2.8.14) The moment he was found: "Yes we decided to drive down waverly rd and put up some more posters and knock on some doors. We were going pretty slow so we decided to pull over and let a car pass and josh (my boyfriend) looks up and says "Jess - holy s!@*" so I slowly get out with some pepperoni sticks. He was standing in a driveway looking like he was contemplating crossing the road so I got really low and said arlo want to go for a car ride and I was throwing pieces to him and he slightly darted up the driveway so josh rolled forward in the car and rolled the window down and threw pieces of pepperoni at him and he gobbled them up so he got out and crouched low and once he saw it was josh he ran straight for him wagging his tail like crazy and josh picked him up and hugged him and we both bawled like babies!!!!" http://ns.lostdognetwork.com//happy-ending-lost-dog-shubi/ LOST DOG: Shubie Park (Off Leash Area), Locks Rd, HRM, NS Border Collie Mix, Male, 1 yr old Arlo
