SPICE ISLAND CULTURAL DAY ASSOCIATION OF QUEBEC (SICDAQ) ASSISTS GRENADA’S FRONTLINE WORKERS AND SENIORS ACTION QUEBEC DURING COVID-19. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED TO THIS HUMANITARIAN CAUSE. $5,000 RAISED!!! MontrealNovember 5, 2020On Saturday, July 11, 2020 during the very successful virtual Spice Island Cultural Festival held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, a GoFundMe Campaign was set up by Spice Island Cultural Day Association of Quebec (SICDAQ), the organizers of ...the Summer Festival, in collaboration with the Honorary Consul for Grenada in Quebec, Mr. Theodore Blaize, to assist the Grenada Frontline Workers and Seniors Action Quebec due to the pandemic of COVID-19. With the generosity of many, a total of $5,000CDN was raised which enabled SICDAQ to purchase and send thousands of PPE’s to Grenada for the frontline hospital workers and police officers. SICDAQ also donated 25% of the total amount raised ($1,250) to Seniors Action Quebec, an organization advocating for seniors in Quebec, Canada. 6,000 face masks and 3500 gloves were shipped in care of the Ministry of Health for distribution to the hospitals and the police. SICDAQ would like to thank everyone who donated to the success of this Campaign. For every donation received of $50 or more, donors got the chance of winning 4 terrific prices: 1ST PRIZE: A 7 nights stay for 2 at the Coyaba Beach Resort on Grand Anse Beach in Grenada; 2ND PRIZE: A Day’s Tour of Grenada, compliments LaToya Tours; 3RD PRIZE: Gift Basket of Grenada spices and teas, compliments of Natural Spices of Grenada with a bottle of Clarke’s Court Grenada Rum from Grenada Distillers Co. and 4TH PRIZE: A Gift Basket compliments of The Grenada House of Chocolate and True Blue Resort in Grenada. The Spice Island Cultural Day Association of Quebec (SICDAQ) is a non-profit organization which has as one of its many mandates to act as a medium to garner supplies, services and resources to support and strengthen institutions in Grenada. SICDAQ has also shipped toys, school supplies, books and personal items to the Belair Home, Father Mallighan Home and the Grand Bacolet Rehabilitation Centre from their SMILE GRENADA Project; wishing the children a safe and wonderful Christmas.

Sincere gratitude to the People’s Republic of China for helping to provide housing for the people of Grenada. Today, I attended the completion ceremony for the ...China Aid Low-Income Housing Project in St.Patrick and I must say I am truly happy to witness the fulfillment of this promise. The next step will be to complete the compilation, verification and review of applications. Therefore, we expect that before long, families who meet the qualifying criteria will begin to occupy the 70 units included in this housing project. See more
