Here is a great summary on what to expect for treatment as we try and prepare for our gradual restart!

The image attached is an example of a pre-screening form - whether online, over the phone, or in-person that you may encounter to proceed with massage therapy and other Healthcare services. WHAT A MASSAGE APPOINTMENT LOOKS LIKE FOR A PATIENT FOR NOW: 1. At the time you book your appointment you must pass a pre- screening test.... 2. The day of your appointment you will receive a text message or call to enter the clinic at the time of your appointment to avoid contact with others. 3. A mask must be worn at all times (cloth or surgical) including during the treatment and upon entering and leaving the clinic. If the clinic has the means to do so they may have masks for you, remember PPE is limited. 4. Upon entrance to the clinic you must sanitize your hands. 5. You must pass the screening test on the day of your appointment. 6. You will sign in with your name and phone number. 7. You will enter the treatment room to answer questions and sign appropriate forms, then proceed with treatment. 8. Payment will be taken via our online booking system or card, no cash. 9. You must sanitize your hands upon leaving the clinic. 10. Leave the clinic with your mask on, later properly dispose of the mask. If your health changes during any of these steps or leading up to the appointment we cannot continue with treatment. Hello everybody! I just wanted to post a bit of an update with everything that is going on. Although Massage therapists have been notified that they may slowly open up to practice, there are many new procedures to abide by. ... Massage therapists are also told to practice if comfortable, meaning it may take some longer than others to return. We are still in a state of emergency, some RMTs have to organize childcare, live with more at-risk individuals, etc. and we should be sensitive to their decisions. What's important to note is that this change was quite sudden and RMTs need to organize and gather mandatory supplies in order to practice. This means it will take time in order to return to work safely for both patients and practitioners. There are a lot of new forms, new guidelines, and safety measures. New appointments made will appear differently than what you may be used to. I will be making another post for what a massage in these times will look like shortly.
