New Post Alert - How To Be More Productive During Quarantine This week, I share my 8 productivity tips to help you get the most out of working from home. These are truly unprecedented times. Within weeks, I am sure that your life has done a complete 180. Heck, mine definitely has!... We not only transitioned from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, but we also have had to navigate working from home, and going without those much needed moments with loved ones and peers. While we are all slowing down our daily lives by staying home and practicing social distancing, it can be difficult to find the motivation and productivity to keep working toward your goals. If you are anything like me, you have likely already spent over 80% of these past two months in pyjamas or loungewear ALL DAY. And just maybe, might be struggling without that morning Starbucks. I am thinking the same thing as all you lovers out there, the lines have been NUTS. Jokes aside. I want all of you to know that this is NOT going to go on forever. Our life will get back to a ‘new’ normal, sooner than later, and the work that we do now is really going to pay off and make a difference once we get there. Trust me, your future self will thank you! Now on to the good stuff. You might be wondering what you can do to stay more productive while at home?? Well, great news! I am going to share my guide AKA steps to being more productive so that YOU can unleash your inner Boss Babe and get S**** done! I am willing to bet that many of you reading this right now might be questioning the whole ‘journal writing’ thing. I know, I know.... The flashbacks are flooding in! I assume this topic brings back some memories for many of you. Perhaps, to a younger self who was once required to keep a journal for school. Or to times where your parents wanted you to keep track of major events, as a time capsule of sorts, to later look back on. Don’t worry. I am not forcing you to write THAT kind of journal. I am suggesting that you give my version a shot because of the many wonderful benefits it has to offer. The great news is that journaling is not just for pre-teens, its for adults too! New #RealTalk Post! This weeks RealTalk post is a feature of my Mom's story - her perspective - on her daughters (AKA my!) mental health journey and what the experience was like as a parent. Personally, it can be difficult to look back at all of the tough times and the affect it had on my loved ones. Ultimately, I am incredibly grateful to have had the most supportive parents. It is truly what got me through those battles and allowed me to succeed and get to such a wonderfu...l place in my life. My message to YOU: If you are currently suffering from a mental illness, please know that your parents love you. They are listening, and are doing their best to support you in every way possible. Open up and talk to them - they are there for you! If you are currently a parent of a child experiencing mental health struggles, do not give up. It can get tough, and you can second guess yourself, but you are doing the RIGHT thing. Even though they may not say it, your child appreciates all you are doing for them and by just giving your love it can make a world of difference. The whole reason I started this #RealTalk series was to create a space to start conversations. By talking about our stories, and sharing our struggles, we continue to break down the barriers that surround mental heath stigma. Connection can overcome anything. My hope is that you are able to connect to these stories and take something benficial away from them. I want YOU to know that there is no shame in simply being human. We all have our own feelings, struggles, and go through different battles. By sharing and creating conversation we are one step closer to helping ourselves and others who may need it. Lets have more #RealTalk To read my Mom's story click on the link below. More #RealTalk stories from peers, loved ones, bloggers, etc. will be shared weekly. Keep an eye out! http://sierrassuitcase.ca/moms-story/
