The Slipp House has moved! Visit Kings Landing to see the historic home in its new location, just outside the Welcome Centre between Kansuhsey Wik (former agri...cultural hall) and Hagerman House. The home will be undergoing restoration and remodelling over the next several months. While the area will be barricaded, for now, we cannot wait to eventually welcome summer campers back to this newly restored, historic home! We received an email this morning from a gentleman in Ontario asking if we could help with the location of this building in Saint John. We referred him to a cou...ple of sources, but thought one of you might be able to help. Post it here and we'll pass it on to him. Thanks. _________ Hello from Ontario: I've looked at your very interesting web site featuring pictures/write-ups remembering local history. I'm wondering if you might have any information pertaining to Saint John's "Soldiers' Hospital" that existed during World War 1? A photo folder in my possession, printed after the war, pictures the exterior of the place but I'm having difficulty determining the exact location of it in the city. Attached is the picture I'm referring to. Look forward to hearing from you ... and thanks! Garfield See more

This has was shared online recently from an unknown community: "We just got a call from the Provincial COVID relief fund put into action by the provincial gover...nment under the state of emergency. We are entitled to an immediate $1400 to pay our mortgage with and an additional $500 to buy groceries and cleaning supplies. The $1400 would be deposited to our bank account and the $500 would be applied to our credit card, All they wanted was our bank account and credit card information. Be careful" Again...do not give out personal information or banking/credit card numbers to anyone over the phone or online. Pandemics do not stop crime. #staysafe #coronavirus2020 #STAYHOME

Today people are switching from DVD's to thumb drives. Many computers no longer come with a CD/DVD player. You have to buy them as an accessory. They're bulky and not as convenient as having your media on a thumb drive. BUT... don't think that once you have your media on a thumb drive, it will be there forever!
