Meet Our Team - Say hello to Hristina! Hristina has been a main player with us for 12 years now as a spectacular dental assistant! If you've been in her presence, you'll know she always has a warm smile on her face! " I love my profession, I love my coworkers, and the patients. I like the fact that we can bring a smile on our patients faces!!"... Outside of the clinic, she likes to do many things like travel, socialize with friends and family, go to Bulgarian folk dancing or go to a paint night. It's understandable that many of us faced a new level of stress during the year that just passed. Feelings of stress and anxiety can sometimes cause you to inadvertently clench your jaw or grind your teeth while you’re asleep. This behavioral pattern may also lead you to hold your jaw in a clenched position while you’re awake, without being aware of it. These actions can cause feelings of tightness in the jaw, and pain during sleeping and waking hours. A tight jaw can cause p...ain or discomfort in many parts of your body, including your head, ears, teeth, face, and neck. Mental and oral health go hand-in-hand. If you catch yourself clenching your jaw (are you doing it right now?), this repeated pattern could lead to long-term damage if not corrected. There are a few solution available, so if this is something your facing, contact our team to discuss.

Meet our team - Introducing Alison! Alison brings over 30 years of experience in the dental field, and we were thrilled to have her a part of our team as Office Manager since 2019! She helps to keep us all in check and looped in together, so we couldn’t do it without her. Outside of the clinic, Alison is mother (to two-legged and four-legged , alike), loves gardening, long walks in the park, and her newest hobby - watching paint dry (with chalk painting furniture). She and ...her pup, Timmy, enjoy taking long road trips together. She endeavors to ensure our patients and team have something to smile about - and for that we are thankful for her! . . #sometingtosmileabout #yycdentist #yycdentists #yycdental #dentist#brush #healthysmiles #dentist #calgarydentist #calgary #yyc #yycdentist #yycdental #dentistry #smile #teeth #meettheteam #locallove

What is gum recession? This is when the gum tissue around your teeth pull back, exposing more of the tooth. One may notice this occurring when pockets or gaps are more visible between teeth or you may increase a notice in sensitivity. Is it a problem? If left untreated the supporting tissue and bone structure can be severely damaged, and in bad case scenario may lead to tooth loss.... How does it happen? 1. Periodontal Diseases: bacterial gum infections (ick). All the more reason to keep on-top of your hygiene. 2. Genetics: 30% of people may be predisposed to gum disease. 3. Aggressive Tooth Brushing: harder doesn’t necessarily mean cleaner or better. This comes done to both your toothbrush bristle choice and the actual pressure you apply during brushing. 4. Poor dental care: Inadequate care makes it easy for plaque to turn into tartar, which left long enough will lead to recession. What to do if I have it? Mild gum recession may be able to be treated with deep cleaning to reduce plaque and tartar build up and prevent periodontal diseases. Smoothing out the exposed root area also makes it more difficult for bacteria to attach itself. Question? We’ve got answers!

Meet Samantha! Samantha has been with us for just over a year and is one of our smiling faces at the front desk to welcome you to our clinic. My favorite part about my job is helping patients and seeing them happy or relieved after they have had what ever kind of treatment or cleaning done. I also love working with such amazing people at my office ... Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and their pup, Elly, along with yoga, swimming, and traveling. Be sure to say hello and introduce yourself next time you’re in!
