Signature Projects 16.11.2020

Hopefully this First Nations tourism experience will be a model for the concept we've suggested to others. We've stayed at the St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino. It's a great venue for this venture. http://www.cbc.ca//ktunaxa-first-nation-tourism-teepees-1.

We have completed the Bob Quinn airstrip runway upgrade - which the post below from July shows was so much required! Two pictures below show the grader removing both growing and dead/decomposing organic matter from the runway surface and give an idea of the amount of material removed. The other two photographs show the finished job, one looking north and the other south to the mountains beyond. We delivered this project on time and within budget. This runway is now ready to serve the many nearby mining projects.

We made a site visit last week to the Bob Quinn Lake airstrip in the far northwest of BC, in the middle of the mineral rich 'Golden Triangle'. The airstrip is primarily used by mining companies and we will oversee the resurfacing of the runway there next month. As can be seen, the laydown area has soft patches and the runway is badly affected by weed growth. In both securing funding and managing the project, we are co-ordinating a partnership between the Province, private industry and the 'not for profit' Society that manages the airstrip. The resurfacing will promote economic activity and enhance emergency access to this remote area.

Another funding application submitted this morning - this time to cover the cost of purchasing and installing battery packs to power airport navigation beacons.

After resurfacing the runway at Dease Lake last year, we are project managing further improvements there and at the Bob Quinn aerodrome in NW BC this year. Just taken part in British Columbia Aviation Council- BCAC airports committee teleconference where we heard about capital improvements being undertaken by many airports across BC this summer.
