Soroptimist International Greater Victoria

The Soroptimist International of Greater Victoria Club may now be disbanded, but we do still stay connected. So, it is with very heavy heart that we learned that our club matriarch, Joyce Anderson died this week. We wanted to offer a small but heartfelt tribute to this wonderful woman. Many Soroptimists knew, loved, respected and now grieve her loss. We can rest easy in the assurance that she was prepared and left this world knowing she was greatly loved. A Soroptimist fo...rever. Joyce was passionate about the work of Soroptimist International and our club projects. Whenever a member of her family, or a friend died, she would always make a donation to the Soroptimist Foundation in their memory. Many of our club members will now be making a donation to the Soroptimist Foundation in memory of Joyce, as a gesture of our last farewell to her. We invite other Soroptimists to join us in making a donation in her honour, if you so wish. Thank you. Rest in Peace from a long and full life, lived well, Joyce

December 10 is International Human Righs Day. Soroptimist International's mission is standing up for women and youth, leaving no one behind.

1 December 1955 the day Rosa Parks refused to move from her seat on the bus. Today we remember her courage and bravery. She proves a single person can make a big difference and one doesn't have to be a person with a big voice to have a big impact.
