Effective May 4th, our office will be open to provide physiotherapy to patients in need. Under direction of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, and Physiotherapy Alberta, we have instituted some changes to increase physical distancing, and limit points of contact. We will also be wearing PPE, until recommended otherwise during treatment sessions. Some things will look a little different, but one thing that will not change is our team’s commitment to their patient’s recovery. Thank you for your continued trust in your health. Stay safe!

Under direction of the Premier of Alberta, and Dr. Hinshaw, the Chief Medical Officer of Health, all Physiotherapy clinics in the province are ordered to only see patients who are deemed to be urgent. Our regulatory body has laid out the following criteria for patients that can continue to seek in-person physiotherapy. Patients are considered urgent if ONE of the following criteria is met:... 1)In the absence of physiotherapy services, the patient would seek urgent care or emergency room attention (e.g. would seek prescription medication to manage their symptoms). 2)The patient is an Essential Service Provider (e.g. healthcare provider, public safety, construction) and cannot work because of the injury. The injury does not require a WCB claim. 3)The patient is seeking treatment following surgery, a recent fracture or the recent removal of a cast/immobilizer. 4)In the absence of physiotherapy, the patient’s functional status will deteriorate to the point of requiring invasive management or hospitalization in the foreseeable future. Our office is also expanding its use of video conferencing for those patients who do not meet the above criteria, or would prefer to limit their contact with others. Please contact our office for more information. Thank you and stay healthy.

The province of Alberta has set out new restrictions to limit the spread of Covid-19. Our office will still be available to provide care for urgent care patients only. We will provide an update shortly with what the new recommendations are from Physiotherapy Alberta in accordance with AHS. Thank you for your understanding. Stay healthy!

The health of our patients and staff is of the utmost importance to us. As we try to balance the needs of our patients with the evolving changes that COVID19 brings, we will continue to stay open. We are regularly in communication with Physiotherapy Alberta and AHS to ensure that we are being a positive contributor to maintaining the health and wellbeing of Albertans. We are taking additional precautions which include, but are not limited to, proactive patient screening, in...creased frequency of hand hygiene and equipment disinfecting, spacing out patient appointments to minimize social interactions, and introducing video chats for some patient follow-ups. Our hope is that we can continue to do our part to keep patients healthy and decreasing the burden on urgent care centres and family Physician offices, who during this time are already working overtime to manage this crisis. Wash your hands. Don’t touch your face. Stay healthy. See more
