This weekend would have been Quinte ToyCon 2020, our biggest show yet! Unfortunately, the pandemic had other plans and we proactively decided to postpone the sh...ow last month, for the safety of everyone involved. Although we are still waiting to hear from the city about a rescheduled date, and we won’t run an event until it’s absolutely safe to do so, we are making plans for the future, as we know once this pandemic winds down people will NEED the distraction of Toy & Comic Shopping! For Dealers, as we’ve noted previously, we are transferring your May booking to our next event date, or any subsequent event date of your choosing in Ajax (Date to be announced) or Quinte (Date to be announced). Event dates will be announced as they become available and following the recommendations of the city, province and federal levels of government. Stay tuned for additional emails and if you haven’t received any, please check your spam/junk folders. For Sponsors and Advertisers, we look forward to continuing to work with you soon for the next event. We want to thank everyone for their patience during this time as we navigate the complexities of this new normal. With today marking the partial reopening of the economy I know some of you are anticipating our return to the community. Rest assured that we are working on a plan that will satisfy all the social distancing recommendations that have become the norm. But we're not there yet. There are still some small details left to be finalized before we can make our official return.... At this time we continue to fill online orders and we are still fielding all your inquiries through our social media, email and telephone. Hang in there everyone, we'll be back soon. Watch this space for more information as we finalize our return.

Sad news. But in the interest of public safety...

Just checking in to let everyone know we're still here! In my old occupation we often said that no news was good news. Well it seems like for better or for worse, the news is all people are talking about right now. I won't weigh in on the morality of the situation as I believe that is something deeply personal and we all have to decide that for ourselves.... What I will say is that yesterday not a lot of people outside of Kawartha Lakes knew that our community was an epicenter of the COVID 19 outbreak for our region, and today it's now a national news item. We will get through this. But until then we hope everyone is doing well and supporting one another in the ways they best know how to. Think twice before vilifying your neighbour or those who are still working. Try erring on the side of kindness. It costs you nothing and besides that, you never know when things could suddenly change for the worse. When the dust settles we'll all have to pick up our loose pieces, and no one should have to do it alone. And when things do finally settle down, I hope our shop can serve as a place of respite. Somewhere you can go knowing you can put the outside world on hold and just have some fun for a little while. We will be back! Peace and Love. W&K

In light of the provincial declaration of emergency this morning regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, we have made the difficult decision to close the shop until "at least" March 31st. As the situation is evolving daily, we will remain flexible and ready to react as required by public health officials. But right now, public health IS the driving factor in this closure, and rightfully so...... So until the risk is normalized, we wish all our friends, customers, wholesale and consignment partners well, and ask that you do your part to protect yourselves and your loved ones. Hey everyone! We know there is a lot of concern regarding the COVID 19 pandemic and we understand that our small community is not immune to the risks we all share. While we don't want to take a fear based reactionary approach, we recognize that we must do our part to mitigate the risk to public health. Therefore we are taking the following precautions.... Until the end of March we are suspending all "Pay to Play" services. That means no board gaming or video gaming until the precautions are no longer necessary. Additionally we will not be taking any event bookings until things normalize. Additionally our washroom will be closed to patrons until the precautions are no longer necessary. This will significantly reduce the chances of anyone contracting any illness from touching a contaminated surface or product that would normally be repeatedly handled by the public. Our retail operations will remain open to the public, during our regular business hours and we thank everyone for understanding and doing their part to protect public health. Like all Canadians, we will be monitoring the situation and will adjust our contingency as necessary. We hope the situation is resolved expeditiously and look forward to serving you as we always have! Sincerely. W&K
