Longtime SMBA volunteer passes away. MacDONALD, James "Jim" Alan - Passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 12, 2021 with family by his side from complications of COVID-19 at the Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington. Mr. Jim MacDonald of Simcoe in his 76th year. Loving husband of 50 years to Donna (nee Leask). Devoted father to Christine (Joe), Carolyn (Dan) and Carrie (Mark). Proud Papa to Mackenzie, Maddy, Isabel, Maizy and Mayson. Dear brother of Ruth Long (late Dennis), Pa...ul MacDonald, Mary Jane MacDonald and Scott MacDonald. Dear brother in law of Paul Cross, Mary Anne MacDonald and Bill Leask (Dorothy). Cherished son in law of Kay Leask (late John). Predeceased by siblings Pat Cross and Doug MacDonald, and parents John and Florence MacDonald. Jim will be sadly missed by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Jim was a lifelong coach, participant and supporter of local sports. He was an avid sports enthusiast/fan of all ages and calibers. Jim enjoyed attending dance recitals, music events or any activities involving his grandchildren. As per Jim's wishes cremation has taken place. A private family service with interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe will follow. Arrangements are entrusted to the FERRRIS FUNERAL HOME, 214 Norfolk St. S., Simcoe (519-426-1314). TO OUR 2020 VOLUNTEER COACHES The biggest THANK YOU from SMBA goes out to all of our volunteers who helped us pull this training season off. The dedication we received from our volunteer coaches was amazing. Not knowing what to expect when we first started circulating surveys back in May asking for volunteers and the uncertainty of the Covid situation, our initial response to the call for volunteers was amazing.... Because of you, who volunteered your time and also learned and enforced the all new COVID-19 regulations, we were successful in providing a truly great Training Season in 2020. All the smiles on kids faces, improved skills, player firsts (pitching, playing catcher for first time, etc.), all done safely, would not have been possible without you. Great job by all and once again THANK YOU! See you in 2021!

Tonight was the last night of our 2020 development season, finishing with a Mosquito game. Thank you to all players and parents for participating.

Good morning, The tryouts scheduled for mosquito this morning at Lion’s park have been cancelled. Decisions on the peewee and bantam tryouts will be made later this morning.
