From everyone at Simcoe Hall Settlement House, we want to wish you a Happy New Year! As this year comes to an end, we are so incredibly grateful for all your unbelievable support! We hope 2021 is a year of good health and happiness for you all
Christmas came early in July! Back in the summer, local Desjardins Insurance agents Tammy Lee Hanlon, Penny Masters, Nina Romano, and Tammy Segriff, came together to donate funds for Simcoe Hall! We used the donation to purchase 2 large freezers and a fridge for our Food Bank! These appliances have allowed us to store more essential and healthy food items to be distributed to those in need in our community. We really cannot thank you all enough for your generous support!
Starting our week off with gratitude Thank you to Dave from Cargill Cares who stopped by Simcoe Hall to present us with a cheque for $6,500! We are so appreciative for your generous support during this difficult time for so many in our community!

Today, on Remembrance Day, we pause in a moment of silence to honour and remember those who have served and continue to serve our country. Wear your Poppy as a pledge to never forget. Wherever you are, please observe a moment of silence at 11 a.m. today.
A huge thank you to Williamsburg Public School in Whitby for collecting a truck load of non-perishables for our Food Bank! Our community is so proud to have bright young leaders like the students at Williamsburg! Thank you for your hard work and generous support
Students at Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School in Ajax recently held a Thanksgiving food drive and on Tuesday, Brad stopped by with the non-perishables they collected for our Food Bank. They also raised over $600 for us in addition to the food! This trailer load and monetary donation is going to help a lot of individuals and families in need! Thank you for your generous support
On Saturday, the Durham Regional Police Service’s held a Harvest Cram-a-Cruiser event in support of Simcoe Hall at the Great Canadian Superstore located on Gibb St. in Oshawa! Thank you to all of the customers, staff and the amazing people of Oshawa, for helping us to fill almost 2 SUV cruisers with non-perishable food items and toys! This truly could not have been possible without all those who continue to support the police and the most vulnerable within our communities. A special thank you to Officer’s Darryl Rice and Keith Richards for your continued support and leadership during this time of uncertainty for so many. We are all in this together #DurhamStrong
We’d like to extend a big thank you to Fred Gabourie! He purchased 50, 10 lb bags of potatoes from CN Produce in Bowmanville, and donated it to our Food Bank to be distributed to our clients for the Thanksgiving weekend! Your dedication and care for our community is so appreciated
On #orangeshirtday, we recognize the harm that residential schools inflicted on Indigenous communities and honour those impacted. We all have a responsibility to learn our history and take action towards reconciliation. Today we wear orange because #everychildmatters
Doesn’t this look DELICIOUS?! Thank you to Bulldog Pub & Grill for collecting food donations for our Food Bank to ensure each and every member of our community has food on the table for Thanksgiving
Our Simcoe Hall staff sadly waving goodbye to the van Ontario Motor Sales Chevrolet Cadillac generously lent us for the past 6 months as it drove away
It was a sad day at Simcoe Hall on Friday as we had to say goodbye to our beloved van Ontario Motor Sales Chevrolet Cadillac generously lent to us for the past 6 months. The van gave us the space to pick up large donations for our Food Bank that we otherwise would have not be able to do. We also used the van for our Seniors Delivery Program to ensure the vulnerable seniors in our community impacted by the COVID-19 crisis, received necessary food items. These are just a few of the many reasons why we are so grateful to OMS! From everyone at Simcoe Hall, thank you for your generosity during such a difficult time
