Mini raw cherry "cheesecakes". Just in time for the long weekend here in Canada! These are super easy to make with no sugar added. The sweetness comes from the dates, cherries and coconut milk. Here's the recipe:... For the crust: cup pecans cup walnuts 8 medjool dates, soaked For the filling: 1 cup cashews, soaked for at least 1 hour or overnight 1 cup full-fat coconut milk (the creamy part from the can) cup filtered water Juice of 1 lemon cup frozen cherries Pinch of sea salt Directions: Line muffin tin with muffin liners. In a blender (I used my @vitamixca) or food processor, add pecans, walnuts and dates. Blend until everything is broken down into small crumbly pieces. Doesn’t have to be smooth! Take a heaping tbsp of the nut and date mix and put into each muffin liner and press down to make a crust. Put in the freezer while you make the filling. In a blender, add the cashews, coconut milk, lemon juice, cherries and sea salt. Blend until smooth. You might not need the water, but if you do, add a little bit at a time if the mixture is too thick. It should almost resemble a pancake batter. Not too thick, not too thin. Take muffin tray out of freezer and pour filling into each cup. Freeze for at least 3 hours or overnight. Thaw for 3-5 minutes before eating. Store in the freezer for up to a month Note: You can omit the cherries and use another frozen fruit or omit fruit all together for more of a lemony taste. See more

I don’t have to chase extraordinary moments to find happiness - it’s right in front of me if I’m paying attention and practicing gratitude. ~ Brené Brown ... Gratitude helps you fall in love with the life you already have. Focus on all the good things in your life right now, rather than picking apart the things that aren’t going right. See more

Add in oat milk and vanilla extract and mix until well combined. add the egg mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until everything is combined. fill each donut mould and then put them in the oven. bake for 23-25 minutes or until you can insert a toothpick and it comes out clean. let donuts cool for 10-15 minutes. using a sauce brush, dip the brush into the butter and paint the donuts all over. dip each donut in the cinnamon sugar mix until they are coated. directions for the cinnamon sugar: in a small bowl, add the cinnamon and monk fruit sweetener and mix well. in a small sauce pan, over low heat melt the grass-fed butter. follow instructions above for coating the donuts. store in an air-tight container for 3-4 days.

It can be very overwhelming heading to the grocery store not knowing what to look for. There are many ingredients in products that we can't even pronounce and most people will just purchase anyways. My goal is to guide you along so you feel confident that the products you are choosing are going to make you feel awesome! Also, flavour is everything to me. I'm not here for that bland life! Keep in mind, these healthier swaps are meant to be just that, healthier swaps. ...There might be some products that say natural flavours (which I'll get into soon) but these are still better options. "Better" is better than perfect. Here are the top 5 things you guys asked for: 1. Condiments - Mayo was a big one! My favourite mayo brands are @chosenfoods + @primalkitchenfoods - they don't use inflammatory oils like canola oil 2. Bread - Hands down, @unbunfood! My absolute FAVE - they have pizza crusts, sliced bread, buns, baguettes, tortillas that are all gluten free (they also have vegan buns) with no weird ingredients - even if something is gluten free, doesn't mean it's healthier - often times they add other ingredients like sugars + fillers to make up for the lack of gluten 3. Dressings/marinades - I love @primalkitchen and @motherraw - they have sauces and dressings that can be used as marinades! Again, they don't use inflammatory oils! 4. Chocolate - I mean, I have an extensive list of chocolate haha! But, some faves are @hukitchen and @eatingevolved - they both use minimal ingredients and sweeten with coconut sugar (some are unsweetened too) 5. Protein powder/collagen - I'm a big fan of @designsforhealth.canada PurePaleo protein powder (+ their whole body collagen) and @genuinehealth fermented vegan protein powders (+ their collagen too) - you can get unflavoured, vanilla, chocolate I have many more brands to share under each category. So much so, that I'm putting the final touches on an e-book for you guys! It includes over 15 product categories like hot sauce, oils, oatmeal, flours, meats, etc. You name it, I've got it! It will also include pantry/kitchen staples + ingredients to watch for. Stay tuned my friends!
