My Instagram top 9 for 2020! It's been a year... packed with both blessings and dissapointments. I've made a list - My #colorcubes really developed as a style this year! I am excited to have a "style of my own" to work from. - "Solace", a spring group show that I was planning with the lovely @jodiebhart, was canceled due to covid. - My 12x12" paintings sold really well this year; 15 of the 30 paintings I sold this year were square foot paintings. Thank you to all who pur...chased my artwork! - I am being represented by my first art gallery - @bluecrowgallery in Toronto!! - My work was show in the @bluecrowgallery and @jveenstraartist #squarefootshows and in the @pwd_gallery Square Foot and Big Ideas Show - I designed stickers; my first go at art merch, and made a profit! - I started experimenting with resin and allowing myself to play with abstract compositions... no regrets. - My first website is in progress!! While there was space for so much uncertainty and anxiety in this past year, I have also experienced the peace that only found in Jesus. A verse I wanted to highlight is John 16:33 - "in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." Resin abstracts are beautiful, so I DECIDED TO MAKE SOME!!! 1) Ensure 6x6", acrylic and resin on panel 2) Future 6x6", acrylic and resin on panel 3) Endure 6x6", acrylic and resin on panel... I was inspired by, planned, and worked these three pieces as I listened to a three hour Joe Rohan and Kanye West interview. At one point Kanye commented on the significance and power of words ending in "ure", such as ensure, future, and endure. If you have never listened to Kanye's thought process and creative ideas (I had not), it is a real eye opener! He's a genius, with a passion for God and caring for this earth. These three babies were my first go at resin art (minus a small study), and while they look STUNNING and oh so shiny, they do have some bubbles. See more

Meet Charlotte, my small studio animal Charlotte is almost four months old. She is now a permanent studio resident, and a lovely distraction I firmly believe artists should open their studios to a small friend (probably a cat). Charlotte is proof; she plays many roles, including tiny muse, fluffy stress ball, chair shredder, and the one who finds and removes all the spiderwebs in the studio.
