The Kawartha Lakes Singers is a 25-30 voice choir directed by Arlene Gray with accompanist Gael Morrison. It is a 4 part harmony choir: Soprano, Alto, Tenor and... Bass. The choir sings folk, pop, musical theatre, classical, Celtic, etc. Members have ranged in age from 16 to 70+. The award winning choir recently celebrated their 10th Anniversary and is currently looking for new members in all 4 voice parts. KLS rehearses on Tuesday evenings in Lindsay from September to April or May and performs 3 concerts each Season in Lindsay. This year the choir will be joining forces with the Northumberland Orchestra and Choir under the direction of John Kraus for December concerts in Lindsay and Cobourg. The concert will include highlights from Handel’s Messiah as well as some lighter Christmas fare. In March the choir will present a fun 1970’s music themed concert in both Lindsay and Fenelon Falls. Finally, in April the choir will once again join forces with the Northumberland Orchestra and Choir to perform The Armed Man Mass ( a Mass for Peace) by the Welsh Composer Karl Jenkins as well as some pieces by the Kawartha Lakes Singers.
