English application - The 2021 National Inuit Youth Summit application. We were heartbroken to have to postpone the National Inuit Youth Summit (NIYS) this year... due to COVID-19, but did not want to take any risks related to the health and wellbeing of our people and communities. While there is still uncertainly around large in-person gatherings/event, we are crossing our fingers and our toes that we will be able to host the event in the summer of 2021 in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut. To help us prepare, we would like to encourage all interested Inuit youth between 15 to 30 years of age to complete an application to participate in what will be either an in-person or virtual gathering in summer 2021. We will accept applications until December 18, 2020 and will make participant selections in January 2021. Find out how to apply from your NIYC Representative

Where are they now? I am taking Arts and Culture program at Dawson College, the courses I take helps me improve and express my art skills, and explore new different kind of arts I’ve never tried before. I also get chances of putting my culture into it and share with my teachers and classmates. This way, I get to share an awareness on Inuit and Indigenous challenges. During my free time, I like to bead, and I sometimes use sealskin. I also recently continued sewing seal...skin cases that can be used for placing school supplies, makeup or beads. - Neevie Simigaq, Kangirsuk Class of 2017/18
