Thanks to Jeff Boot for taking this photo of Michael and I under the maple tree that I just learned is 125 years old. Michael has been our chef for a long time now and always goes out of his way to do anything extra to make people happy. Often a one-man show, few people understand the strain a busy restaurant places on the shoulders of the one in charge of the kitchen. It’s truly a family business as the one always at the helm is the hardest working man I know, my Dad, Gar...ry Hall Sr. It’s not easy trying to live up to that work ethic but I appreciate the challenge. It’s easy to take for granted the commitment to perfection he has and the hands on approach to maintaining that which has become inseparable from the man. A man’s land is his soul I scrawled down once in a journal. I’m pretty sure it’s from the movie Wall Street but I immediately thought of my Dad. Thanks to my Mom, Susan for quietly creating and maintaining every single garden in the place to the delight of the people who comment upon them. Thank you to Garry and Patty for doing so many thankless behind the scenes work to make everything run smoothly. Thank you to Wayne for being the person who is always there to fix anything and help out in whatever way needed. Thanks to Camille for managing the cleaning of cottages during an incredibly difficult year. Thank you to Bill for being at the tee everyday and for bringing us Riley who has made a significant contribution to the daily operation. Thank you to all of the customers, friends and staff who have helped us make this a very successful season. We are grateful to all of you. I would like to specifically thank our wonderful staff who came to work early on when there were no tips to be had and they could have easily stayed at home. There was a 100 percent compliance with changing guidelines and regulations and a constant feeling of support and cooperation which diffused tense situations. I do not think I could have made it through the season without each and every one of our lovely staff members. If I were to point out the positive attributes of each of you this post would go on forever...I love you all. To the people that took the time to leave positive comments, we are grateful for those. It has taught me over the years to always say something positive about other businesses and fellow human beings when I can because it means so much and is incredibly helpful and supportive. We so appreciate all of our amazing clients and friends. You make our family business what it is and we are thankful for each and everyone of you. Happy early thanksgiving everyone! Michael will be preparing a turkey dinner available for takeout and limited seating Saturday between 5:30 and 6:45. Dinner includes turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and vegetables. 27.00 plus tax. Please call 705-657-8788 to reserve!
