The Toronto Sun is reporting that 11 guys in Brampton were fined for playing cricket. $880 each! We all want the season to get started but be smart.

Congrats to all the teams that gave it their all in this year's Finals tournament. Your 2019 SIYCL champions are the Peninsula Bulldogs who won the super-exciting final match 56-55 over the Metchosin Stingers to take the gold medal!

2019 Finals will take place tomorrow, Sat 24 Aug at UVic on the main CARSA field. 8 teams are entered. First games at 9AM, gold medal match at 2PM. Who will reign victorious? Come out and cheer on your favourite team! Metchosin, Oak Bay, Peninsula, Saanich and Victoria will all be represented. We are excited to announce that Saanich mayor Fred Haynes will be our guest of honour at the awards ceremony immediately following the final game! What a great finale to the 2019 cricket season!!
