Recently, the World Health Organizations International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has declared that processed meat, such as sausage and bacon, and red meat are foods that pose potential cancer risks, as both have been given high carcinogenic ratings. According to the latest report, processed meat is placed on the Group 1 list as "carcinogenic to humans." Tobacco, asbestos, and diesel fumes are also on the Group 1 list. So we all love bacon, but do we really want to risk our lives for it? #WorldHealthOrganization #Cancer

Looking for something to do this weekend? Our members have an extremely busy weekend ahead of them with 5 events within the Tri-Cities needing to be covered! The 22nd annual TreeFest 2015 starts off our weekend tomorrow at 11am at the Riverview Hospital grounds. Theres a lot of activities planned for the day, so bring your family!... Next up, we have the Veterans Memorial Candle Light Service being held at the Robinson Memorial Park Cemetery at 2:00pm. Show your respect to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country, as well as give thanks to those who are still with us today. On Sunday, we have two Terry Fox runs to cover, one being held at Rocky Point park in Port Moody, the other over in Port Coquitlam. Throughout the world, people participate in Terry Fox runs to help raise awareness, and money, towards cancer research. And last, but not least, we have FraserFest happening on Sunday, starting at 3pm. Come celebrate your watershed at this event which also hosts live music from two different bands! We hope to see you out at some of these events! If you have any questions or just want to pop by our tent and say hi to our volunteers, we would be happy to see you!
