Sasha Senior first stepped on a skateboard at 13 years old. Now, at 31, the mother of two teaches others in the community how to skateboard, runs her own skateboard store, Bliss Skateboard Shop, while also juggling full-time work with the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps.

Skateparks get built because passionate people advocate for them, sometimes for years. Proof of what can come out of passionate, determined, and persistent advocacy even in a small town is the AMAZING St. Paul skatepark which is NEW on Skateparktour.ca! Thanks to a Skateparktour supporter for taking the photos while travelling Alberta!

For the first time in freestyle history, The Freestyle World Round Up will be hosting 110 skaters from 22 countries, who have submitted video entries over the p...ast month. Skaters will be evaluated on the creativity and complexity of their timed routines by a panel of international judges including Russ Howell, Per Canguru, Christian Heise, Denham Hill, Albert Kuncz and our own Kevin Harris as our back up judge. This was not an easy task for our judges as the caliber of skating has risen and with so many new faces that we have never seen before. Skaters have been sorted into six divisions: Rookies (15 and under), Womens, Masters Am and Masters Pro (age 40 and over), Amateurs and Professionals. The youngest skater competing is a 6 year old from Japan, and the oldest skater is a 60 year old from Brazil. The contest will be a LIVE feed broadcast on the Braille Skateboarding Youtube channel which has over 4.9 million subscribers. Pro freestyle skateboarder Mike Osterman will be co-hosting the live feed with guest commentators including pro skaters. Attached is a schedule for this coming week.
