Schedule you’re back surgery now. ... I know these skates look appealing to the little ones, but the curves in the steel are ALWAYS so extreme, that such minimal contact with the ice means they’ll be on their butts more than their feet. ***Learning to keep your balance on these will be quite the achievement

A blade swap on a Bauer goalie skate. Check out the height difference between the old blades that had been wore from improper sharpening and the fresh steel. Like our earlier post, these skates were purchased used, online and the blades had to be replaced right away. Found these skates for sale while browsing Market Place and I just wanted to share a tip for purchasing used skates online. Always pay attention to the steel in the skate. With this particular pair, you’re going to have to factor in the cost of new steel on top of the sellers asking price. ... Why? Well, take a look at the rounded tips on these thinner blades. A skater is going to have issues with steel shaped like this and they’ll most likely need to be replaced within a season. So let’s say the seller is asking $150 for this pair, and the new blades you’ll need are going to run you around $90 on top of that. You’ve got to ask yourself at that point Is it worth it?
