Craft beer is an art. It’s formulated on what we grow and can access locally. It’s driven by the tastes and preferences of our community. And it’s designed by some of the coolest minds in the industry. Chat us up about your favourite flavours, and you just might see it on tap!

There are many ways to enjoy craft beer, whether that’s in the taproom or from the comfort of your own home. Over the past year, many of us have worked hard to create every opportunity possible to access our unique Saskatchewan craft beer. Thank you for the continued support.

As craft brewers, we work hard to support our communities and to adapt to changes. Thank you, Saskatchewan, for continuing to drink craft beer during all the ups and downs of the past year. We are a resilient province, and through shared interests, we always seem to pull through. Cheers to great things ahead.

For us brewers, it’s not just a job. It’s a passion for creating the best possible products while building up our communities. It’s not only supporting other local businesses but revitalizing them through our success. Craft breweries are independently owned and care deeply about where the brew and who they are serving. Thank you for all your support.

The Saskatchewan Craft Brewers Association is about more than just a pint of beer. We work to educate and advocate for change with the provincial government to keep our industry vital and growing.

How do you make a local beer, something that is 100% North Battleford, Saskatchewan? Listen as Brennan from Armoury Brewing Company explains how they achieved this goal much sooner than they had planned.

Saskatchewan Craft Brewers Association 04.09.2020

What makes a brewery a craft brewery? One of the defining aspects is that it cannot produce more than 400,000 hectolitres of beer, with most craft breweries producing much less. These smaller batches mean better flavours, better ingredients and better beer.

Saskatchewan Craft Brewers Association 01.09.2020

We are often asked, who drinks craft beer? The answer is everyone. Its a product for us as Saskatchewan people to be proud of. It builds our communities by supporting local, it just tastes better, and because its brewed in smaller batches, we are able to create a wider variety of unique flavours.

What makes craft beer so special? Is it our attention to detail in sourcing local ingredients that stimulates growth in our agricultural sector? Is it our superfan customers who create a community around every taproom? Or is it that feeling you get at the end of a perfect pint and the best conversation with your friends? We might never know.

Saskatchewan Craft Brewers Association 03.08.2020

Great beer is even better with great food. Many of our taprooms have partnered with amazing food services to complete the in-person experience. These partnerships help you enjoy your craft beer and also help stimulate the economy by making creative spaces for other small businesses.

How high can you count before you lose track? If the answer is 4.37 million, then you have something in common with the total amount of craft beer pints consumed in 2019 in Saskatchewan. Lets raise a glass to that!

Women are drinking more craft beer. Women are brewing more craft beer. Women are driving the aesthetics and flavour profiles of more craft beer. Shout out to all our amazing women in the Saskatchewan Craft Beer community. We heart you.

The ingredients that we put into our craft beer are items we have touched with our own hands, talked to the farmers who grew them and taken great pride in our recipes. Supporting your local craft brewery isnt just an investment in us; it goes back to the core of our provinces agricultural heritage. Check your local craft brewers and taprooms for details on delivery, pickup and dine-in options.

Between the closure of restaurants, pubs and taprooms that make up a massive chunk of our revenue and the fact many breweries are ineligible for most government programs means we are struggling to survive. Some of us may inevitably fall through the cracks. Your support is deeply appreciated and more critical than ever right now. Support Saskatchewan Craft Brewing with direct pick up from your favourite local breweries, and through delivery from www.saskbeerdelivery.ca or www.districtbrewing.ca/products/beer | Stay home, support local and drink craft beer.

Saskatchewan Craft Brewers Association 10.02.2020

Before Covid-19, most Saskatchewan Craft Brewers were breaking sales records and anticipating growing even more. We were bringing home national and international awards for our beer and putting Saskatchewan on the map as one of the best craft beer regions in the world. But no brewery business plan was designed for this kind of disruption. We just need your support to get through this. Support Saskatchewan Craft Brewing with direct pick up from your favourite local breweries, shopping at Sobeys and through delivery from www.saskbeerdelivery.ca or www.districtbrewing.ca/products/beer | Stay home, support local and drink craft beer.

Saskatchewan Craft Brewers Association 25.01.2020

Most Saskatchewan craft breweries are less than five years old, predominantly owned by local grass-roots entrepreneurs, and are capital-intensive businesses with rapid growth and expansion. This means we dont have the resources to sustain a prolonged interruption to business. Craft brewing has become big business in Saskatchewan and is key to our Agri-Value industry. Closures may have a significant negative impact on local farmers who sell their barley, wheat, lentils, honey and other crops to brewers. Support Saskatchewan Craft Brewing with direct pick up from your favourite local breweries, shopping at Sobeys and through delivery from www.saskbeerdelivery.ca or www.districtbrewing.ca/products/beer | Stay home, support local and drink craft beer.

As a collective, the members of the Saskatchewan Craft Brewers Association (SCBA) have gathered to raise money for the members who cant sell beer at this time. We have brewed a special collaboration Milkshake IPA, named Refrigerate this Beer, with proceeds going directly to members in need. This milkshake IPA features aromas of berries, vanilla and citrus, a creamy mouthfeel, and a combination of sweet, juicy and tart flavours with a firm, bitter finish. It is 6.5% abv / 45 IBU. You can purchase our collaboration beer from www.saskbeerdelivery.ca or www.districtbrewing.ca/products/beer, Sobeys, and SCBA breweries across the province. The name Shelter encompasses how we envision our taproom; a warm, creative, and inviting space to gather and how we enjoy spending our free time; outdoors around the campfire, in our tent, or in the camper van. These are the places we retreat to and the ways we take Shelter. AND they may also be the same places we enjoy a few brews. -Shelter Brewing Company Thank you for continuing to support your local craft breweries across the province through take out and delivery options. Your support means the world to us. Cheers to a future filled with smiles and laughs in our beloved taprooms.

Saskatchewan Craft Brewers Association 28.10.2019

The community of a taproom is the heart of the craft brewing industry in Saskatchewan. Its where you get to connect with the people, product and philosophy of the brands you love. Where does beer come from? Sure it tastes as if it came straight from heaven, but each brewery has a unique and special way of creating their flavours. Great craft beer is born at the intersection of art and science. Check out the playfully named Frankenbrew system at Shelter Brewing Company.

Think small. I mean like really small. Like nano small. In Saskatchewan, we have all kinds of craft breweries but a nano brewery produces such small batches they can play with unique and unusual ingredients. So special its only available in their taproom.

Saskatchewan Craft Brewers Association 27.08.2019

Why visit a taproom? Its a relaxing and fun place to experience different flavours right where they are brewed. Visiting taprooms is a great opportunity to chat with the people who make the product and be part of the community. Kari is the president of the Saskatchewan Craft Brewers Association and one of the owners of Black Bridge Brewery.

Saskatchewan Craft Brewers Association 07.08.2019

There are many kinds of craft brewers. Some are called nano breweries like Shelter Brewing Company which means they are a small operation brewing only 1.5 hl. This means they only produce enough to be sold directly from the taproom and gives them the flexibility to create more experimental styles of beer.

Saskatchewan Craft Brewers Association 26.07.2019
