Skiplyn Kennels Dog Training 22.11.2020

The answer to yesterday’s breed is Caucasian Shepherd. They are a livestock guardian breed and very rare. Very Leary of strangers and not good family pets. They are bred to do a job which is guarding their family.

Guess the breed . We have only had a couple of these guys ever in class they are not generally good pets . This girl has some great owners who understand her breed and come to the best for guidance on how to have her be the best she can be .

If your dog has been to the minnow lake dog park or any dog park in the last 2 weeks they are not permitted in classes as there has been a outbreak of parvovirus at these locations and you can bring it to the training hall ( and we have tons of puppies that can get it and get sick ) . IF your dog has any aggression or reactivity issues they are REQUIRED to do a private prior to class. Failure to disclose this info will result in removal from classes without a refund. Help is here !!! Starting next week Taylor Duguay-Ladouceur will be working for Skiplyn kennels FULL TIME ! Since covid restart we have been busier than I have ever been in 20 years. I have been working 12-16 hrs days 6 days a week since reopen and on my day off I have been working 6-8 hrs. It’s been insane and hard to do as I do everything except my group classes solo .( and it’s ALOT ) My trainers are all awesome ( I have always had amazing trainers ) but nobody co...uld really pick up slack as they all have full time jobs. So me and Taylor have been talking for months about me needing her more. A week ago we both took the scary plunges . Me hiring her full time and her giving her two weeks notice . Starting next week she will be answering all emails and calls . Be at hall everyday for dog food pick up , cleaning , helping with all classes. Running her own classes , learning to do one on ones and something NEW we are offering !!! DAY TRAINING !!!! Drop off your dog and have it professionally trained for a few hrs a few times a week ! Giving you the extra boost you need as a owner .. We have a lot of interest in this already without advertising at all ( if interested contact us , we will be starting this week of Nov 16 . Taylor has been working for me for a few years now and was a student for a couple years before that. She has special interest in dog spots . I am super excited to start this journey together. I always knew my business was heading in this direction just was not sure WHEN.

I always thought, when it came to my dog, I needed to do more. When my first dog had behavioral issues I thought he needed more exercise... More training More mental stimulation More interactive toys. What I never realized was He was really good at DOING things. But the skill he lacked The one that got us in trouble ALLTHETIME Was the skill of doing NOTHING. He didn’t know how relax. And all I did was keep him busy. Listen I don’t care if your dog is reactive, or if you have a dog that you are competing with in dog sports Teach them how to do nothing. Teach them how to chill out How to relax And for the really busy dogs Make them practice it often. Your sanity and theirs will thank you
