As we look forward to welcoming our skiers, snowboarders and snowtubers back to the slopes on January 23rd, we want to remind everyone of the protocols that were in place when we were forced to close. Unless you have been hiding under a rock lately, and we certainly wouldn't blame you for it, you know that our ski, snowboard and snow tubing operations have been shuttered by the recent provincial shutdown. As a reminder, start dates for all programs have been pushed back to take in the 28-day closure. Currently, we are expecting to offer our winter Snow School lesson programs and our private lesson bookings. We will be announcing details on our lesson programs on January 1...5th. We are anticipating 10 weeks of fantastic conditions from January 23rd until Easter weekend. This announcement has affected our skiing and snowtubing facilities as well as pre-booked access tickets and Snow School lessons. Snowshoeing operations will continue as scheduled. Today the Premier of Ontario announced a province wide lockdown that will impact the operations at Snow Valley. These strict new measures will see all non-essential businesses, including downhill skiing facilities, close for 2 weeks in Northern Ontario and 4 weeks in the rest of the province as of 12:01 am December 26. Please visit the www.ontario.ca site for more detailed information on the provincial lockdown. With the recent news from the Premier of Ontario, Snow Valle...y will cease operations from December 26th until hopefully January 23rd, 2021. This provincial lockdown will see Snow Valley’s second pandemic closure in the last nine months. This announcement follows the announcement that Snow Valley made last March 15th, when we made the tough decision to end our season early to combat the impending pandemic. Since then, we have worked hard to develop best practices and change our operations to adapt in this new pandemic environment. All the hard work over the summer and fall enabled us to open our operations under Ontario Red Zone Covid-19 restrictions on a limited basis on December 18th. We are hopeful that in 28 days, when the restrictions begin to ease, we will be able to open our slopes again and provide Ontarian's a safe environment to enjoy the remainder of the winter season here at Snow Valley. We are working on plans for all our guests who have booked Snowschool Programs and rentals, season passholders, and pre-purchased ski lift and snowtubing products. Covid Restriction Update - We at Snow Valley are just as anxious and concerned over the possible Grey Zone lock-down as you are. At this point we have not received any direct guidelines and everything is speculation at this point. Please avoid contacting the resort asking for updates. The volume of calls, emails etc is extremely high, and we are unable to respond to everyone. Please avoid the frustration. When we have been given directions by the province and our local hea...lth authorities on what can and can not operate we will provide this information, and direction. What we can say is, in the past we have been told we can operate our outdoor facilities while in a Grey Zone, with restrictions. These restrictions have not been provided. Winter wonderland kind of morning today! The snow looks fantastic, but does little to help us get open. We need cold temps so the snowmaking team can get back to work. Highs for the next couple of days are all above 0.

All geared up and no where to go.....just yet! Our snowstorm is a good start, but it doesn't translate into an opening date. The winter season forecast looks bright, but we can't put a finger on an opening date just yet. We are still a couple of weeks out!

Think of Your Vehicle as your Base Lodge Get ready and dressed at your vehicle. All personal items should be stored in your vehicle, no bags will be allowed in the chalets. No Bagged Lunches Bagged lunches are not permitted in any of our chalets this season. Dining Options Have been reconfigured to maximize dining spaces for our guests. Main Chalet Cafeteria Kiosks or a cashier ordering for delivery to tables Tubing Chalet order from a cashier and pickup order. Sno-Nut Hut offering additional food items this season. Day Lodge offering ‘grab and go’ items. Indoor Building Flow Guests will be able to follow signage in the chalets for exits. Another fantastic day for the Barrie Ski Swap! We have been able to add a few additional time slots for today, Saturday and Sunday. The Patrol has also created a "will call" line today that you can join if you are unable to get a timeslot. (https://bit.ly/2Gj7iOI) They will do their best to get you in when capacity allows. So far the wind and rain/snow has stayed away today for Day 3 of our Barrie Ski Swap in partnership with the Canadian Ski Patrol - Central Ontario Zone Fantastic getting to see people coming out and grabbing some deals on & gear.
