Good morning SKMB family! This week I have been pondering Jesus’ declaration that He is the light of the world (John 8:12). We live in times that are often ‘dark’, how is Jesus our light in such moments? As the Light, what does he reveal about us and our circumstances? Is there something in the dark recesses of our life that need the light of Jesus? With light (Jesus) comes revelation, hope and life. Trust Him to light your way. It was once said that it is better with Go...d in the dark of night than without him in the light of day. Something to reflect upon. In whatever form you gather for worship today, may you be refreshed and lifted up in your spirit. May you lift high the name of Jesus be emboldened in your walk with Him. Good morning SKMB family! Today is the first Sunday of 2021, an opportunity to collectively offer the Father our worship. This morning I soaked in the Sermon on the Mount, specially where Jesus counsels His disciples to translate their worry about their future into a seeking of the Father and His purposes ( Matthew 6:25ff). Worry is of no benefit, walking with God is a great blessing. And so, on this first Sunday of 2021, translate any worry you carry about 2021 into a seek...ing after the heart of the Father. There is peace in such a pursuit. Blessings to you all! Check out our website for news and resources at skmb.ca Phil Gunther, DM

Happy New Year SKMB Family! Be strong and courageous...for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:6-9 May the grace, hope, joy, peace and love of the Lord go with you in 2021. May you make much of Jesus and advance the Gospel wherever you go. May the Holy Spirit empower, gift and guide you in 2021. You are the beloved of the Father, set apart and sent out to make disciples for His glory.... Phil Gunther, DM

Good morning SKMB family! Today is the last Sunday of 2020. It is fitting that one takes time on this Sabbath day to recount the work and blessings of God this past year. Personally, my list is long and I am filled with gratitude. Yes, it has been a very challenging year with many frustrations and disappointments, however, they seem quite small when I think of God’s incredible love for me. His grace has always been sufficient for my needs. In my devotional time this morni...ng I was reminded to always keep God’s love as a guide in all I think, say and do (Psalm 26:3). I am His beloved and I am to imitate Him who is love. As you gather for worship on this last Sunday of 2020, remember the love of God in your life, give thanks, and imitate that love as you enter 2021. God bless you and make you a blessing to others. Merry Christmas SKMB Family. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11 In the Advent tradition, the Christ Candle is lit today in celebration of Jesus’ birth. The incarnation of God himself, the Creator born into his creation! The miracle of miracles.... Jesus came to live among us because of love and for the purpose of saving us from our sins. This is Good News of great joy! As you celebrate Christmas today, pause to worship Jesus, Lord and Saviour; He who loved us and gave His life for us. God bless you and make you a blessing to others. Philip Gunther, DM
