BUDDHA'S TRIANGLE . This beautiful acupuncture point combo soothes the heart and mind. . It combines points from the heart, pericardium and lung meridians.... . Together they calm the nervous system and can help with anxiety, insomnia and a general feeling of being over stimulated or upset. . Acupressure these points gently for a few minutes a day and tune into yourself for a chill out moment. See more

The health of your menstrual cycle is a reflection of your whole body health. A few years ago The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists classified menstruation as a vital sign. Saying it's just as important as blood pressure and temperature in indicating health. Severe premenstrual symptoms, heavy bleeding, menstrual cramps, irregular menstruation, endometriosis, fibroids and other menstrual cycle difficulties can reflect deeper underlying issues such as: Hormone i...mbalance, nutritional deficiencies, depleted body nutrients, allergies or immunological problems. . In my practice when I'm treating women, my goal is to help get their periods not just to what is considered normal but as close to optimal as we can. . This is the main way I treat fertility clients but it's just as important in my female, headache and anxiety patients and also those entering menopause. . It's normal for hormones to shift in perimenopause but if we try to keep the cycle as close to regular as normal it will be a smoother transition. . So what's an optimal cycle? . Cycles should be close to 28 days. From day one of your period to the next. Close to 5 days of bleeding, with a regular flow. A regular flow looks like changing a regular pad or tampon every 4 hours. The blood color should be a nice rich red. Ovulation should occur mid cycle on day 14 There should be no pain and no pms symptoms. . Now remember this is the perfect cycle, many women including myself don't have exactly that. I absolutely get occasionally irritable with PMS (just ask my husband). . We use this as a guide to know what we are reaching for. . Chinese Medicine is amazing at helping you get a better period which leads to overall better health. . If you think you need help with yours, be sure to contact your local Acupuncturist. #acupunctureworks #chinesemedicine #holistichealth #ttc #infertility #fertility #womenshealth #periods #menstruation #yyc #yycmomlife #yycacupuncturist #healthymom #tcm #menopause

DANDELION . So much more than a weed, DANDELION is a powerful healing herb. In Chinese Medicine it is called Pu Gong Ying and it is used to clear heat and detoxify. As a herbal medicine it can be taken on it's own or in a herbal decoction and is often prescribed to help with insufficient lactation, edema, mastitis, conjunctivitis and even breast cancer.... We prescribe Pu Gong Ying for specific patterns and if used in the wrong patient or the wrong dosage it can cause side effects such as diarrhea. Seek out a trained herbalist if you need help with conditions mentioned. I do however highly recommend eating the leaves! They contain more vitamin A than a carrot and can be stir-fried like spinach or made into a dandelion salad. The dandelion root can also be used as a coffee substitute. The leaves grow small in open grass, so we let a bunch grow in a shady area under sauna. The leaves grow long and luscious, perfect for salad. #foodasmedicine #dandelions #herbalist #mothernature #backyardmedicine #nature #naturalmama #lactation #breastfeeding #breastfeedingmom #newmom #yycherbalist #chinesemedicine #acupuncturist #yycacupuncturist #rawmotherhood #naturalmedicine #yycmomlife #albertamom #milksupply #flowers #herbs @ Calgary, Alberta

How you spend your mornings What you choose to read How you talk to yourself... Your bedtime routine Choosing to walk to the local store Choosing a herbal tea over another coffee Tiny choices can make a huge impact on your quality of life. Small changes can help make that mental shift so you can begin to see yourself in a new light. What you deserve and your health potential is often just hidden by negative self talk. #positivevibesonly #selflove #selfcare #dailyhabits #mentalhealth #momlife #momswithanxiety #healingvibrations #growth #innerwork #risingwoman #riseandshine #untamed #wildmotherhood #spiritualgrowth #consciousliving
