Our #Keder roof system at Heritage Hall on Main Street - in place to allow for roof tile replacement as we enter Vancouver's rainy season. This is a complete exterior restoration of all the stone and brickwork on the facing of historic #HeritageHall. The building, designed by Archibald Campbell Hope, was originally constructed in 1915/16 as a postal station and has seen a variety of uses since. It was declared a heritage site in 1974 and is now being carefully restored by Sco...tt Construction Group This project requires a system that touches the building minimally. The engineering challenge for us has been to redistribute loads from our system, the workers, and materials - and redirect them to the ground and/or existing structural areas of the building. All while completely covering the roof and spires. It is with great sadness that we share news of Garvan Keating’s peaceful passing at home on October 4, 2020. Garvan started at Skyline in 2013 and quickly became a treasured member of our team, working in the capacity of Foreman/Supervisor. He was extremely generous with his knowledge; always willing to take people under his wing to teach what he knew, and to lend a helping hand both personally and professionally. His loyalty and dedication to Skyline, his coworkers, and friends went above and beyond. Garvan leaves behind his wonderful wife Margaret (Maggie), our Construction Safety Manager, and a legacy of scaffolders who have learned from the very best. His big personality, kindness, devotion, sense of humour and adventure are an immense loss to the Skyline family. We love you Garvan, remembered always. #SkylineScaffoldCA

The HSBC building in downtown Vancouver, a 23-storey office tower in need of a skylight replacement, required a custom fitting of gantry and hoist work to get the job done efficiently and safely, all while accommodating businesses still operating in the atrium lobby. We used Layher Allround scaffolding structures, outfitted with Protect Panels to keep paths clear and work out of sight, and constructed an asymmetrical Layher Keder XL Roof to protect the building while glass was removed. In 2019, we tackled some of the biggest projects in Metro Vancouver completion of the multi-Skytrain station re-roofing project (10 stations in total) with #BirdConstruction, Phase 1 access work at #Viterra Pacific Terminal for #PacificBlasting, restoration and envelope work on The Regent for RDH Building Engineering, the massive #AlexFraserBridge suspended access scaffolding project for Eiffage Canada (which is now in wind-down), and demolition of the building at 1090 Pend...er for #ClearviewDemolition to make way for the new #Bentall Tower among other projects. We also WON the Scaffold & Access Industry Association #SAIAawards Project of the Year Award for our innovative work on the Empire Landmark Hotel demolition project. In these early weeks of 2020, we continue work on the YVR Airport re-roofing project for Stuart Olson Inc. believed to be North Americas largest clear span roofing project to date (175,000 sq. ft.), #Keder roof and protect panels work on the iconic #HSBC building project for Chandos Construction, and, for the new YVR Airport extension (Pier D), temporary roofing (heated, given live trees will be coming in February) for #PCLConstructorsWestcoast. Looking ahead, were excited to announce our involvement in the 400 West Georgia Street high-rise for Westbank Corp, and work on Sewells Marina for #ITCConstructionGroup coming down the pipeline. The Alex Fraser Bridge improvement project is still going strong. Our crews continue to install, move, and reinstall our scaffolding further along the bridge. Among other improvements, the additional (seventh) centre lane and new movable barrier will allow for a counter-flow lane to increase traffic capacity during morning and evening rush hour. #alexfraserbridge #scaffolding

Hotel Vancouver. This was an access project for installation of new copper flashings and historical restoration of the stone work. We put in over 30,000 sq. ft. of wall access and had to find ways to tie to the building without damaging it. With only 1/4 between the stones, we drilled 1/4 stainless steel rods into the joints. Stainless - given the Vancouver rain, so no rust would leech down the wall. And thats custom printed netting, those windows arent real. Next up - well be doing the roof. . #HotelVancouver #restoration

One of our clients came to us looking for a way to keep the dust from their demolition from affecting the neighbouring restaurants customers - these protect panels were the ideal solution.

Our client required a scaffolding system that could support 13 floors of access scaffolding for heritage restoration work. We were of course, more than happy to create the perfect solution using HD sidewalk hoarding and site trailer support, plus Layher System scaffold.

When Turner Construction needed a heavy lift gantry for 2 ton picks, we built a 200kp leg mod system. With massive load capacity, sometimes structural steel is the best solution.

Any Vancouver locals recognize this building? We designed scaffolding which minimized cost and impact on their day-to-day by "cantilvering" the scaffold at the top and removing the requirement of support from the ground.
