I choose to ride with women. Like cycling, they have given me so much: mental health and physical health, fun, confidence, a network of strong, like-minded people. . In honour of International Women's Day I hopped on my bike for the first real ride since I broke my arm. The dump of snow we had didn't let me hit the trails like I wanted but I did get in some hills. . #iwd2019 #balanceforbetter #backatit

Today's run was about motivation not results. It was getting out in 5cm of snow and -8 and not missing a day on my plan. Slogging through snow, slush and sand with spikes on my shoes was more like trudging through sand. But I did it!

It was worth the wait. I love that the kids stop for views as much as I do.

It's been a tough week. The mental weight of injury is getting me down. With the weather I feel trapped - 130mm of rain yesterday! I have turned to some more creative pursuits. #cyclistnotcycling #gettingcrafty
