"Authorities quickly det...ermined the only way to evacuate them was with a massive airlift done at night as the fire burned unchecked. That marked the start of a massive multiagency rescue that some officials described as unprecedented in size and scope." The CA National Guard spun up 2 helicopters, a Blackhawk and a Chinook, and headed out to help. Flying using night vision through high cross winds, smoke, burning embers and rough terrain, the CA NG took off and landed several times, rescuing all 200 people. Stage three of re opening the club is now in progress. We will re open for Commercial Pilot Flight Training on Monday 6th July. Private Pilot Licence Flight Tr...aining will resume on 13th July. Introductory Flights will resume on 20 July, along with accepting new student pilots. We will not be open to members of the public for Scenic Flights at this time. "According to The Middlesex-London Health Unit, the patient is a woman in her 50s who is a non-hospital health-care worker with no history of travel to areas th...at have been significantly affected by the novel coronavirus. The woman entered the Victoria Hospital’s Emergency Department on Thursday and was assessed, treated and released the same day. She’s currently showcasing ‘mild’ symptoms and is self-isolating at home. Health unit staff are continuing to determine the source of the illness and following up with her close contacts, who have also been advised to self-isolate for two weeks"

Chatham-Kent’s Medical Officer of Health had ordered further cancellations across the Municipality. Municipal officials say Dr. David Colby is ordering the canc...ellation of day camps, programs and organized activities that allow for the close interaction between children and youth. Closing all schools and childcares, but allowing for the youth to congregate in other capacities or in other venues, defeats the purpose of the closures all together, Colby said in a statement. The science shows that social distancing is the most powerful intervention in slowing the spread of disease. If organizers have questions as to whether or not their program can run, they are asked to contact CK Public Health at [email protected] or call 519.355.1071 x 1900. Earlier on Friday, Colby ordered various other measures to control the spread of COVID-19 and he also declared a local emergency as a result.

Dr. Colby is also issuing the following orders for Chatham-Kent: All public and private schools to be closed from March 14 to April 5. All licensed childcare facilities to be closed from March 14 to April 5 (at this time, this does not apply to home-based childcare settings).... The ban of all mass gatherings of 250+ people (included in that maximum is the number of staff in place to support the event). Anyone aged 0-17 years who has travelled internationally, including to the United States, will self-isolate for 14 days upon their return, and no individuals returning home from international travel will be able to attend school or childcare for 14 days. Adults who travel internationally, including the United States, will be asked to self-monitor upon their return and isolate if they become ill. Additional recommendations for social distancing include: Limiting the distance between yourselves and another individual by at least one metre Limit social interactions by avoiding large gatherings such as celebrations, sporting and entertainment events, religious services and entertainment venues.
