Had a slow moose hunt this year but was still able to run a few groups through camp. Here are 3 or the 4 moose harvested from Miniss Lake this year.

Got to spend a few days closing up camp at Root Bay with my brother and dad. I was able to get this fish in the first hour of fishing! Was a good way to cap off a not so great summer. There were some good things that happened this season. We got a lot of good projects and improvements done at almost every camp. Next up we will have a few Canadian groups coming in to moose hunt this fall and that will be the wrap. It was a strange year not seeing everyone but will be twice as happy to see you next year! #fishatsfo #walleye #flyinfishing #firstlite #ontario

Carling lake outpost is almost in the home stretch for the renovation! Can't wait to have our first guests here. Fishing has been great and the cabin is turning out just as nice! See everyone next year when hopefully life is back to normal!

I got to take a group out fishing at Root Bay for the first two days of their trip. It was amazing, we caught multiple fish over 23" up to 27" and the standard size was 19" to 23". Here is another progress report from Carling lake renovation. Working on the Bunkhouse now, we got the floor done and a few walls started today. I can see another day of fishing in our future if we keep this pace up!

It was another super hot weekend on our trip to Root Bay. We had some crazy weather while there, with super hot to rain then a wild lighting show! Made fishing a bit tougher then normal but still found a bunch of walleyes and this bonus pike. Walleyes were mainly in 14 to 18 feet of water but bitting very light most of the time. Back from Arc lake after a great 4 days of being in the bush! Got the new docks almost finished minus a few tie downs rails and more tires needed next trip in. Got out fishing on Arc, Taper and Vincent and needless to say the fish are lonely! Almost hard to get our jigs to the bottom at some points. Best combo was a jig with a 5 inch plastic leech. We only got out twice but first day fish were in the weeds in 8 to 10 feet and two days later after a couple very warm days they moved out to the humps in 15 to 20 feet of water. On Monday we stopped at Carling to put in a days work before heading back to Sioux Lookout. We are heading back to Carling tomorrow to work on the main dock while Rich works on the Tung and groove inside. Things are coming along but still lots to do!
