All sleep studies have been postponed - please contact us one week ahead of your scheduled appointment to rebook. Email us at reception@sleep-clinic with "Reschedule sleep study" in the subject line and we will give you a new appointment date. Our doctors are telephoning patients. Your telephone visit with the doctor will take place at the same time as your originally scheduled visit. You will be sent an email and receive a phone call to confirm the date and time. Ignore the location- stay home and wait for the doctor's call. The call will come from a blocked or private number- please make sure you phone can receive the call. YOU MUST CONFIRM YOUR TELEPHONE APPOINTMENT OR IT WILL BE CANCELLED. Please phone at 905 529 2259 or email us to confirm at [email protected].

Update on Coronavirus for our patients- we have made the difficult decision to close for all sleep studies for the next few weeks to allow our doctors and staff to carefully assess the risk to all of us during this time. The GREAT news is that our doctors are all keeping on working- consultations will be done via telemedicine. The doctor will phone you at your scheduled time and discuss your sleep study results and options for therapy. We will be posting much more information on this over the next few days. Thanks for all the support we have had this week from our awesome staff and doctors- this is an unprecedented event in our lifetimes and we need to keep safe and keep healthy. Walk the dog, play board games with your kids, catch up on your favourite shows and most of all be kind to each other.

Once again at this time of year we give thanks for the wonderful people with whom we work- the doctors, the sleep technicians, clinical assistants and all our support staff who every day give of their best to take care of the thousands of patients referred to the Sleep Disorders Clinic every year. We also take the time out to think of the people who are not as fortunate and may not have a hot meal and company during the holidays. Mission Services feeds hungry people in our home town of Hamilton. In lieu of small gifts for our staff and suppliers we have made a donation in the name of our SDC colleagues. Thanks for all your hard work and support. Merry Christmas and happy holidays- take time out to hug someone today!

Here's another great stocking stuffer to help keep that special snorer in your life quiet....and sleeping like a baby. The sleep noodle is a simple device to keep you off your back during sleep. Most of us snore when we sleep in the supine position (on your back) and this handy belt will train you to sleep on your side. Especially good for snorers and people who have sleep apnea mostly when sleeping on their backs. Your sleep doctor may have told you your apnea is "positional" and to try to sleep only on your sides. The Sleep Noodle is a Canadian product, sold at the Sleep Disorders Clinic and at our Home Health Care partners. Only $40 for a quiet night and small enough to fit into a holiday gift stocking!

Let's talk about SNORING.....everybody's favourite topic in a sleep clinic! What makes us snore more? Alcohol and late nights tend to make the decibels louder so the holidays are a time when instead of getting some good sleep, many of us are going to lie in bed and listen to our partners snoring We are going to feature a few stocking stuffers this week for the snorer in your life We have a few great options -stay tuned for some excellent devices coming in the days before ...Christmas and New Year's Eve. . First up, the brand new Bongo (looks like a miniature drum set) available early in 2020, in time for Valentine's day for sure . You'll be able to buy these at The Sleep Disorders Clinic or from our home health care partners. Bongo is a small reusable device that fits in the nose and is good for mild to moderate apnea sufferers who cannot tolerate CPAP or need a small device to take on a plane. Also excellent for reducing SNORING and only $300 for a four pack which should last a year.
