Sleepless Potter

I was so honoured when @lys519 asked me to make these urns for Goose and Tuff. I’m so happy she now has a beautiful resting place for her pups in her home. Here are some photos of the process. I kept this planter for myself from the last kiln load. I have a dream of having all matching handmade pots in my house but I am having too much fun with all of these glaze combos. Here is what I have left after the other nights debacle. First person to comment sold on the post will get it. I am headed to town tomorrow and can do in town deliveries. Ceramic jar with oatmeal glaze. $75.

Disaster struck tonight! I’ve always read not to fall in love with a piece until it comes out of the kiln. Well these beautiful pieces survived the kiln but not the fall onto the concrete floor. My hubby was trying to be nice by taking all the big pieces downstairs for me. Right as he put the last vase on the shelf the whole thing came down. I feel bad for how bad he feels! The pieces can always be made again and even better next time. It is still a little heartbreaking. So...me were gifts and some I wanted to keep for myself because I was proud of them. Some were yet to be fired but waiting glazed for a Valentine’s sale. Thankfully I managed to get pictures of them this morning. Swipe to see the devastation. Don’t mind the messy studio.
